Witcher 2 was a huge disappointment. Linear game world...with non-linear story? really? It was good for the first few hours but the last half of the game dragged on and the story was just rubbish.
These games where i get to choose (this is just an illusion for stupid people to think they are in control) the plotline are horrible. Have you ever read a good book or watched a spectacular movie where you got to choose where the story went? thats because story writing is a craft better left to those who know what they are doing.
The Withcer 2 had the most anti-climactic ending (no matter which one you "chose") of any RPG I've ever played, and it has tainted my interest in this franchise. It's not like there was much else to keep me interested. The gameplay was lackluster with its clunky combat, linear game world, and lack of overall content or diversity.
I hope this mediocre franchise can turn this around, this is a great IP that could be something special if handled more appropriately - mainly by having the balls to write their own, complete story, and introducing that into an open world with more proven RPG features. You don't always have to reinvent the wheel to make a car go faster, look nicer, and ride smoother.
the sub fees value all comes down to how much content they give you per month or however often their content cycle will be.
I played (and payed) LOTRO for 2 years when it was still pay-to-play and felt like I was always getting my money's worth because of how much content the game had. ...and the expansions were only $20 each, for huge amounts of content.
and think about this people, this game will drop to $40-45 very soon, and like most MMO's, there are deals to be had with the sub fees. More than likely if you played this game for the next couple of years, you might only be paying an average of $8-10 per month, especially if they offer yearly subs.
I think that the success of this game and its sub fees come down to how much content they can provide. if the content is lacking, or unappealing, then this game will sink. but if the content is there, and steadily increses, you can bet your ass people are going to play the hell out of this MMO.

anyway...the graphics on 360 are pretty horrible. worse than 3 in some ways. there seemed to be a lot of popup in both objects and textures. after seeing what GTA 5 can do on 360 I guess I thought we could do better. Needless to say, this title is going to be much more appealing on next-gen hardware, especially with the higher player count.
@maynard232323 no one mentions the obvious because to the rest of the world it is not obvious. North America, Canada, Brazil, Japan, England, France, and Germany. Those are the main markets for video games and in those areas PC and console games are comparable.

If your outside of these regions then no one cares about you in regards to, well, anything as far as popular culture goes. your outside the loop man.
And I like gamepads, not because I don't like the mouse, the mouse is great, its because of the huge keyboard and the fact that I have to sit at a desk to effectively use both the mouse and keyboard. That and most of the known universe is on XboxLive. So, I can always find a friend on live to play with. Xboxlive put my PC gaming days to rest mostly, unless I'm playing an RTS or an MMO.
Now, heres something no one ever talks about: the fact that all keyboards are digital. On PC you have one analog control (the Mouse). Gamepads can have 4 analog controls, and sometimes even more. Even the top buttons on gamepads are now pressure sensitive. If I want to strafe sideways very slowly (FPS) on PC I have to tap the button like I was playing a racing game on the NES. Thats stupid, I dont care who you are.
...ok, so PC gamers might be a little worse in that regard, I'll admit that, but....

The only "gamers" I know play games. They don't care what it's on, or how they have to play them. PC, console, tablet, smart-phone...whatever.

You wouldn't hire someone with an unpleasant voice to host a radio program and it isn't acceptable for other "speaking" professions either.
Disliking someone's voice is difficult to ignore, no matter how respectful you are, and the readers can't choose who reviews the games they are interested in.
One might suggest going to other sites "if you don't like it". Do you think that's what Gamespot would recommend you do? I highly doubt it. Besides, patrons are owed something as well...and maybe they do deserve more professional video reviews.
some have suggested having someone with real commercial quality voice/speaking capabilities narrate all the video reviews. Thats quality constructive criticism in my book.
