@Mark Butler it was the most over-rated story ive ever seen. It was alright but the game was nowhere near as good as everyone made out. There are so many good games with good stories idk why bioshock got so much hype other than the cool and novel setting of rapture but that got old after bioshock 1.
It almost sounds like the reviewer either hasnt ever played a call of duty before or just tried really hard to ignore the previous iterations of the franchise. I think if GS is willing to mark down other games for "not bringing anything new" to the franchise then I dont see why CoD would be an exception other than if they gave GS a monetary incentive to promote the games merits more than is necessary.
All in all if CoD wants to improve and not be overtaken by the vastly superior battlefield franchise, I suggest they rework the game for the next iteration. instead of an over epic and super soldier like story line I think its better to focus on whats really going on, on the emotional and psychologically damaging aspects of war. I want to see a soldier get better on the field but worse in his ability to cope, I want to see him not perform random acts of epic warfare that are over the top hollywood action flick but to see him barely make it through a firefight or ordeal I want the tension of battle not feel like a God-like soldier.
Maybe its just me, but that is what I think can change the call of duty franchise for the better.
I find it interesting that the same overall formula, but in different settings, new story, added multiplayer and new detective view of crime scenes is a bad thing. If its like the previous arkham games then I know for a fact that its above a 6. If you grade each element individually, gameplay, graphics, story, replay value im sure this game is well over a 6 in each so just because this is an extremely negative person and did nothing but talk bad about the game for over the first half of the review then mentioned that the new additions and new story were "minor" improvements.
Idk who would enjoy hearing someone be so negative about anything let alone about a game that is still teh best superhero game out there and sets the benchmark. Ill stick to my angry joe reviews, total biscuit wtf is and my rock paper shogun critiques. quality of content on this site is decreasing... also the new website layout was a "change for the sake of change" the old one was far easier to use and more clear straight away this is far more complex, the reiview score and the review vid are in unusual and separate locations.
@catalyst55 you are 100% correct and you are one of the people that have a mind of their own. Its refreshing to see that on the internet since almost everyone is a follower.
You just pointed out one of their biggest hypocrisys and I can assure you that they might read it but will never address it. Thats the media for you, regardless if its the news, sky, newspaper, trash magazines or a games website like gamespot. This and feedbackula have been somewhat condescending to the posters but frankly if you think about it, what you said about the advertisements is true. They dont have a leg to stand on, they know it and thats why they ignore the insightful and intelligent comments such as yourself and focus on the idiotic ones.
They are a form of media you cant really trust any media 100%
