[QUOTE="MonsieurX"]Bad idea. It's always recommended to do a fresh install if you change the motherboardJohnF111

Kinda off topic or on topic here, If you upgrade your motherboard can you transfer windows 8 upgrade to the new motherboard or is that only for ome system builders windows 8?

I've tried researching it but I keep coming up with different answers that don't make a lot of since to me O.o

:edit I mean restalling windows 8 upgrade on to the new motherboard under the same owner. I'm not if I'm making any since, So confused o.o

I want upgrade my motherboard but would like to try save alittle money on OS.

Yes you can do it. You might have to activate over the phone though however it's pretty easy so it's not really any extra effort.

Thank you., That's cool with me then.

[QUOTE="Blistrax"]Get 2X4GB RAM sticks so you can run dual-channel.kraken2109

This, 1 8GB stick is a bad idea.

Yep, I'll make the change to my list. I haven't ordered anything yet. Just a list I"m getting together.

I can't afford to order it all once so I'm gonna start with the stuff that I know that won't fall out of date, Stuff like Case , Power supply and OS.

I'm not sure if I'm gonna with windows 8 or 7.I'm really disliking how some games won't even start up or just freeze or crash under windows 8. Its a nice OS has nice interface that I didn't like at first but grew to like it after a while.

Anybody know If I install windows 8 64bit upgrade on my system and as long remove it off my old one? I've got the disks from Microsoft when upgraded my 32bit windows xp. I've tried doing some research on it and it's always left me quite confused.

Edit: The list my change because by time I've got the money saved for the main (Motherboard, CPU,Ram and video card) stuff new stuff may come out lol.

[QUOTE="Barujin"]

If no consoles ever offer upgrades to their graphics, then they are obselete within a short amount of time. Dead on arrival might be rather harsh, but it's the right kind of thinking for those who don't want to be stuck in a specific era of graphics. The irony is that game companies who sleep with the console companies force PC gamers to tolerate those obselete graphics due to ports.

Timstuff

The N64 had the expansion pack, which was a very novel idea IMO, but gamers got all grumbly and whiny at the thought of buying it. A lot of them just didn't understand why a little plastic block was necessary to play a new game, and console makers have been terrified of making their systems upgradeable pretty much since the Sega 32x. I certainly don't think it would kill them to include an expansion slot for a new GPU and RAM upgrade cartridge on a console, but they generally don't like doing that sort of thing.

I remeber that little thing when I got my n64 Xmas, My family had one already but it was nice to get second one. Kinda mind blow to think how far we come since Super mario 64, zelda 64 and Donkey kong 64

[QUOTE="gt350tsc"][QUOTE="MonsieurX"]2nd build. Don't get the V4,nowhere near as good as the M4. And not a fan of those water coolers, air cooling ftw. And I'd get a better\bigger caseMonsieurX

Are you referring to the motherboard when you say V4 and M4? If so what motherboard would you suggest? and yeah I think I'll drop the water cooler for bigger case. It would be easier to work with for me. As for pre built computers I've never really been a fan of them I like putting together computers myself and knowing whats in it.. I just use the website to help get a list together.

I'm talking about the SSD. I inderstand it might be cheap...but not worth it

The v4 would have to be significantly cheaper than any other SSD to be worth buying. At the current prices, you can get an SSD that is several times faster for $5-20 more depending on the model and capacity. If you're lucky, you may be able to catch a hot sale and get a good SSD (say Samsung SSD 830 for instance) for less than the v4. Hence I really can't recommend the v4 at all; you're better off waiting a short while for a sale on a better SSD, or just pay slightly more now if you're in a position where waiting is not possible (a drive failure for example).

O I get it now after checking the specs between the two SSD's. So I'll change to the Crucial CT128M4SSD1 instead. Less space but faster yep I get it , Thank you for the help :)

Edit: I decided to drop one of the 2TB drive to go with a : Crucial M4 256GB  instead.

So it looks like this

So I was just playing around PC part picker and thinking about if I had the money which build would be better for playing games, recording gameplay, editing video and uploading to youtube 720P or 1080P which ever works best.

Also about how long do you guys think one of theses PC's would last before being way out of date.

If it really does improve performance over supporting DX9 and DX10. Then I'm all for it.Even though I can't run I can wait until a build a better computer down the road. Since I'm quite poor I may have do some used PC parts shopping around on amazon and Ebay. Kinda risky but I always check out return policy and the description before I buy. But until then, there plenty of games for me to play..

I wonder how this will affect the pc sales because I know I won't be buying it and my xbox died of the red rings so that out as well.

I'm waiting for the next gen of consoles before I purchases a new one.

[QUOTE="gt350tsc"]Anybody able to get it to launch on 64bit windows 8. I can't seem to get it to launch. I have the same problem with Cryengine 3 as well which I've read that Crytech does't support windows 8 :(LazyKris_89

Working great here on Windows 8 64bit. I know Crysis 3 only supports DX11 graphic cards, but heard nothing about Crytek not supporting Windows 8.

Oh, that's gotta be the reason why then. I'm using a 280GTX. Oh well I guess I'll have to pass on crysis 3 then :(
