Its all much of a muchness but don't forget we are still very early on in the lifecycle of these consoles. As the devs get more accustomed to the platform and we start to see next gen only titles im sure graphics are going to get better and better!
Don't forget that your monitor or TV will also play a big part in the experience I was amazed at the difference between my old and new Samsung (both 1080p).
Hmmm I wonder if that's anything to do with the prerelease gameplay / demos they have access to? No sorry of course not they have to be bought off every time. Here's a novel idea don't like the site / reviews don't use them or better yet create your own review site you may actually hear what you want....
@0ghost0rider0 6 out of 10 isn't the end of the world!
1-5 - poor and not something anyone should try
6/7 - its not quite hit the mark and there are some frustrations / elements which may put people off
8-10 - overall top rated experience
Ultimately its all personal preference I've played some great games which have had low scores and likewise played some terrible games which have had high scores. Reviews are there to give us an insight and someone who's played it opinion
The issue with Nintendo was they hit the market with the Wii at just the right time. Mobile gaming and the smart phone revolution was in its infancy so they had a clear and largely unrivaled niche for casual gaming. Several years on and casual gaming is becoming mainstream with a huge number of games aimed at that market and at every ones fingertips at any time.
Trying to continue that initial success with the Wii U was unfortunately never going to happen. It no longer appeals to their target demographic of casual gamers as - who wants to buy a console when you have a smartphone which will offer the same fix; and the Wii was never a serious core gamer console (if you dispute that ask yourself how many of us had a Wii for a bit enjoyed it but then put it with the Breville sandwich toaster and Soda Stream machine).
If Nintendo want to rise again (with their no holds barred approach to innovation and trying something new and deemed risky by the bigger players) they need to choose what their consumer base is.
