I don't know charging a subscription service for ip they own even after giving devs a cut will be attractive. Let's face it most money is made within the first 6 months of a game being released then it's largely 2nd user. I would expect this to be on Sony exclusive devices for a while but why restrict yourself long term. People with Xboxs or PCs that won't buy a sony console is still a huge market and could still end up giving money to them to play the exclusives they've missed via this service.

Agreed I can't imagine why it would need a strong up service as log as the connection is stable input commands from a controller shouldn't require that much bandwidth unless it's to do with priority on download on lower bandwidth accounts

It's prob because it's one of the few games on the system at the mo. I personally enjoyed the game but was quite frustrating in places specifically the chase scenes. Glad it wasn't £40/50 price tag otherwise would have been disappointed

There are still developers which release games with incredibly short campaign lengths if I'm expected to spend £40 on a game that lasts 7 hours with nothing else to keep me interested in playing it for longer then that's equates to £5.71 per hour cost obviously not great value.

Used game sales isn't the issue / challenge for developers it's firstly the marketing (how many games that aren't aaa do you really see advertised and how many great games do you think you've missed?) followed by providing enough entertainment to ensure most consumers don't resell in the first 30-90 days. The fewer used games in that period the more original copies people will buy.

It's all about what data is collected and what it's used for. If you think that ms is going to record video and voice and save that info then perhaps you should stay under your tin foil hats and not buy one the cost of storage alone would certainly make the xbox too expensive to run as a concept.

Chances are that it will collect how long you play a certain game for and what sex / age you are etc so it can try and make better games / products and target you for advertising. Sound familiar? No? Well it should its what google has been doing for years!

We have got to remember this is a company that makes money out of us buying games / music / video and operating systems is it really going to be interested in what colour boxers your playing in?

@H4num4n @dalepickstock LOL again is that really a bad thing? I would rather have targeted advertising than random stuff i couldn't care less about! I dream of a world where everything can be controlled from my smart phone! Seems like were getting there faster than i thought!

Why are there so many people on here convinced all MS want to do is stalk them via the kinect sensor? Even if this were true i shudder to think of what they will do with the information spawned by oceans of people playing computer games in their pants!

Sorry to say it but theres a real chance your not special and big businesses couldn't care less about what you do in your living room!

More likely always on internet connection is to stay connected to your PC / laptop / tablet and smart phone which they are hoping will be Windows driven! The mandatory kinect is likely to try and drive uptake from developers as im sure they spent a fortune developing it for very little success in decent gaming.

There's only so many times you can add sequels without the game becoming stale or repetitive. Taking it in a new direction is going to add to the fan base and sell the earlier titles to those who weren't interested in the game initially so its not surprising developers are doing this. Big concern is the micro transactions and whether developers actually generate revenue from this as we could start to see these moving from the fringe to core gameplay mechanics! Chargeable dlc I'm sure is always a planned thing for developers (and not entirely a bad thing as they have to make money to continue publishing) but offering it so close to release is getting a bit brazen so unsurprisingly consumers are not happy. Though I do wonder how many gamers are actually bothered about which developer releases a game as for me it's a case of ill buy a game I like the look of regardless of publisher and review score!

Not sure why there are so many negative comments already? Why not bring classics to a popular device? Im a FF fan but haven't played the older titles as i didnt have the original console and never really liked a lot of the emulators. Price tag is a little high but if this encourages other developers to release classics on a capable and popular platform without the need for jailbreaking then that cant be a bad thing.
