Everyone is blaming the release timing, and no one is pointing at the obvious. The game just isn't as good as the first one. I finally picked up after the stellar reviews came in, but it's just not as good. The dumbing down of customization options, loss of the smart pistol, and generally bland gameplay compared to the first add up to not as good sales.
For those of you wondering...Non-gaming moms owning systems for their kids probably make up a portion of that number. The question wasn't do you play on a console, it was do you own a console. It's a subtle difference, but it skews the statistic.
@TheLeftHandDoom It's got it's high points, but I don't think it's better or worse than Diablo III. The economy in it hopelessly broken and the barrier to entry into the end game for PoE is too much. You HAVE to have a 6 linked piece of gear. I'm not going to waste 100 hours of my life trying to farm for that. Diablo has at least fixed that issue...it's still grindy, but not nearly as bad as PoE any more.
@Argle That's what I'll never understand about Diablo and Path of Exile...everyone HATED the auction house, but every LOVES trading...I don't get it. If you making trading an integral part of your game, you should make that easy for the users. Otherwise, just fix RNJesus so people can make it through the game on their own...don't half ass it with wonkey trading system.
