Actually, this is probably good for the industry...Activation hasn't published anything worth buying in a while, and if they control pay-to-win, other companies will have to pay them to implement it...thus, maybe it reduces pay-to-win in other games.
@playstationzone: Unfortunately the reality is, they can lose some upfront sales if they can get some whales to buy into massive amounts of loot boxes. One guy spending 600$ on crappy boxes makes up for 10 people not buying the game.
While the percentage of whale players is small, they are hugely lucrative.
I think I'm rooting for the takeover at this point...after watching Ubi utterly destroy some should be great franchises (For Honor, The Division) they are in dire need of a change in leadership. However Vivendi seems like they're money grubbing rather than looking to please fans.
Dunno...at the end of the day both Ubi and Vivendi seem like they're bad for the industry.
8 is very generous. I picked it up for an hour, and refunded it. The combat is like something out of a 90's beat 'em up, with the difficulty of dark souls. It's really drab boring combat. Punch, punch, dodge (if you're lucky). The controls just aren't very responsive, even with a wired controller.
If you've got several hours to devote to picking up a few new moves, maybe it gets better, but I've got other things to do.
