shame, but yeah Not hugely surprised, all the new gen games are probably focussing more on what graphics it can offer than their own plot and playable environment.
Have Gamespot ever considered getting rid of the points review format? I mean one mans awesome is another mans boring especially in these kind of circumstances. just stating which parts you enjoyed, which parts are similar, what is influenced by something and what is just damn stupid. I've a feeling that this would also make the chats a lot more fulfilling and a lot less offensive
I started to read GS for the reviews but now I pay little attention to them, I know what i like and its up to me to try it. GS is still one of my favourite sites though, purely because of the staff. johnny, danny and seb are a constant supply of funny with the different shows really playing to each ones strength.
I suspect that since the GTA5 review massacre GS are being a bit more critical with their reviews, how else can you explain the COD MW series getting consistently good reviews when only 12 years aren't bored with them yet. The review covered all the aspects I thought would be said but in a more pessimistic light than it deserved. game mechanics are the same and predictable... yes but because batman AC covered it perfectly and why change it? (what aint broke...etc)
