The game looks fantastic. I've seen lots of comments about how survival horror gets boring after several hours of play and I think it's because a lot of survival titles today lack the balance that the older survival horror games had - think games like F.E.A.R. and even Dead Space - you have your creepy moments and your action-packed parts - smart developers always knew what they were doing with those transitions and it works in providing change when one element starts to drag on. Another thing I'd hope for is crew mates ; Seeing them work together and then split up, leaving our girl alone to search for answers while hearing the occasional cry of a crew-mate being haunted by *something* and trying to survive herself would create a good balance of creepy and non-creepy moments.
@DETfaninATL Predator with a Crysis 1 like atmosphere and gameplay could work. One Predator hunting you while you and your team succumb to his deadly Predator skills one by one, while another team is there to investigate/kill you and capture the Predator (like the counter team in Half Life and or F.E.A.R.). Could be a great game.
@RabidBurp @xbox360kb I think he wants it like back in RE days when you just run up on random walls and counters mashing X like crazy till something can be picked up..
@Hobbes444 I wonder if that's how he reacts to women wearing less clothing in the summer time. Men who can't handle their own sexual demons and blame women for "being too revealing" are pathetic. This dude belongs in the Middle-East. Be sure to avoid eye-contact, I hear those Arab chicks have some incredibly erotic eyes!
I think the Halo dev is the one proving himself to be a "man-baby", crying about seeing a female character in partial glory as if he can't handle it. It's people like him that are keeping games from maturing, and by extension, people like him that keep American society immature where "sex" is concerned. Grow up dude.
For the sequel, I wish they would either do away with the shooting parts of the game or truly improve it. In my opinion that part of Mirror's Edge was kind of annoying since the mechanics aren't right for a shooter and it was a bit difficult to aim and control the weapons. The cross-hair for sniper rifles would also automatically jerk/adjust when you pulled out of cover to take aim which was very inconvenient. All other aspects of the game, from design to music, were sublime.
Just make a complete game with lots of characters and put a fair price tag on it. What's with all this complication about a free version now and a full version later and charging people for each extra fighter? If there is no sequel I guess they can blame their own poor business model as the reason.
@ExplicitMike I too feel like it's a bare bones fighter. Fighting games should include a lot more than just a standard vs. and multiplayer mode. I mean, even the original SFII had a story mode and unique ending for each character.
