It's just a MicroUSB, more detail here: http://www.raspberrypi.org/archives/260cool...i wonder what kind of connection it uses from the power supply. Doesn't look like a molex 4 pin

To the corner of the board. You can see in this diagram:
I'm planning to buy one when they become available again. I work as a programmer, it's exciting to see a computer so cheap.
I want to see what video files it will actually play first. I'm interested in running XBMC on it.

I presume you know there's a video showing XBMC running on it? http://www.raspberrypi.org/archives/571 It can play full-HD video comfortably, as it has a fairly decent GPU.
Both of those are 22 inch screens. I read (though I don't know how true this is) that Full-HD doesn't really become apparent until you get a 40+ inch screen, though maybe if you sit quite close (using it more as a monitor rather than a TV in the lounge) you can notice it more.
I have a 32 inch HD-ready Sony Bravia (bought a few years ago) and have been happy with it. As you say a lot of games aren't really full-HD either, they're upscaled. I suggest reading professional reviews to make your mind up. Though since they're both good makes there probably isn't much in it.
That's an excellent point about second-hand value, you don't have anything to sell on with purely digital copies. My biggest complaint is that I can find games far, FAR cheaper on Amazon than on PSN. I buy most of my games after they've been out for a while, when they can easily be found for $20 at Amazon. How much are they on PSN? Still in the $40 - $60 range.
My other concern is what if my console dies? I've got over 40 games - how many weeks, at 24 hours a day, is it going to take me to re-download all of them?
And what if I believe the pre-release hype for a game, buy it at launch for $60, and then find I don't like it at all? With Amazon I can probably get $40 for trading it in soon after launch. With my downloaded copy from PSN? $0.00.
If they come out with a download-only console, I'll be playing my PS3 for a vey long time to come. Probably until the download-only console fails (like the PSP GO) and they come out with a disk-based one to replace it.
