That's a real shame, we might not see Epic Mickey 3 now. I think the Epic Mickey games deserve more praise, there aren't many open-world 3D platformers left and they're both fine examples of the genre.
@Sindroid I think the decision to develop for a particular platform is largely financial. The Wii U has a small install base at the moment compared to the 360/PS3, so the number of potential sales probably doesn't make it worth porting.
If graphics and power were most important, the Vita would be preferred over the 3DS for new titles.
@VenkmanPHD I think it's unfair to say they've been producing the "same" Mario and Zelda games. Mario Galaxy was an innovative take compared to Sunshine, as was Skyward Sword very different to Twilight Princess.
@nocoolnamejim Please do your research - the Wii U supports any external harddrive up to 2TB, they're not "doing a Sony". And bluray isn't a requirement for a games console, it's a nice extra.
Just for reference, Tom McShea is the same editor who notoriously gave Skyward Sword an unfair score because of his individual issues with the rather excellent control scheme.
I'm not sure why you have a personal gripe against everything Nintendo, but it makes for rather biased commentary.
I expect you're right that more games will become digital only, as it puts more money in the hands of Microsoft/Sony etc.
I disagree with your statement "Trading in our rights as consumers isn't entirely a negative shift, even though it appears that way initially". To me the lack of resale rights for the consumer, or even refunds (in the case of Steam) is too much of a compromise.
The way digital titles are tied to accounts is also cause for concern for a collector, you don't have a sense of longevity when being arbitrarily banned from a service can deny you access to your games. I also personally enjoy having proper boxes and manuals, though perhaps I'm in the minority now.
@irishjake Gamespot have to actually wait for Press Releases or other big games to be released, they don't just conjure more news out of thin air you know... so not surprising they milk a story if it's a slow month
