Quite sad how negative most people are about this new console. Seems unless it has amazing technology/rock-bottom prices/massive list of launch titles you aren't satisfied. Wii U: My body is ready.
@buccomatic The Wii loads games off disc, and loading times are consistently faster than installed games on the 360. Nintendo use a proprietary format for their discs I believe which lets them be read extremely fast.
@buccomatic What are you failing to understand? Wiiware games had a limit of 40MB I believe. Even if the new limit was 500MB that would still let you store 16 games even on the cheaper version. And you can expand the storage.
@MrDouglas For multiplayer games I believe the intention is to have a single touchscreen controller, and the other plays will use Wiimotes/classic controllers
@02050muh How is it a similar experience? It has a touchscreen controller, Nintendo first-party titles and more power than the other consoles, all of which make it unique.
I'm not sure why everyone was expecting it to launch so cheaply... have you forgotten how much the PS3 originally retailed for? The Wii U launch price (assuming the conversion to dollars is what actually happens) is perfectly reasonable.
People will expect the console to decrease in cost over its lifespan, if they launch at a rock bottom price there's nowhere to go.
I guess Sony and Microsoft will want to get their new consoles out quickly, otherwise the Wii U might dominate as the first of the next-gen consoles released.
@Wolflink001 Any wildly popular console has lots of shovelware. The game libraries on the DS or PS2 are similar, lots of so-so games as well as some amazing ones.
