With all the proprietary connections and fittings it's not really possible to drop a new mobo in that Dell. If you want more performance, aside from upgrading the CPU or RAM, you need to build a new machine. The power supply in those business machines also limits you to low-end graphics cards, like DMS-59 cards.

What monitor and connection (DP, HDMI, DVI etc.) are you using?

Also what graphics card?

As much as I would normally be against it, I would recommend a refurbished Dell or HP, something like a Dell optiplex 755. They can be picked up cheap on ebay around $100 and are Core 2 machines. They are quite common, reliable and usually come from ex business environments.

It would be a huge upgrade over that 478 setup and would be more than suitable for their needs.

The CPU is throttling down to save power, it can be disabled in the bios but it's best to leave it. The CPU will run at full speed when it needs to ie. gaming

I have an Asus VE279Q monitor and a HD7870. I'm seting up 3 monitors and trying to connect this one via display port. I bought a mini DP to DP cable and there's no signal. It works fine through VGA, DVI and HDMI, so is there something I'm missing here or is something defective i.e DP cable, port on graphics card or port on monitor?

Cheers.

Vehicle brands just seem out of place on a computer. I mean, it's a computer, not a car, it has nothing to do with Lamborghini.C_Rule

Why not? There's clothing, stationary, asus even makes laptops. It's showing an appreciation or passion for the brand/vehicle. If it was some generic case with some stickers slapped on, I'd say burn it. But it carries the reventon aesthetic perfectly, awesome craftsmanship!

Strange issue, have you tried switching between achi and ide hard drive modes in the bios?
Also try formatting and creating a new partition using something like Easeus partition master.

Thanks for the responses, well picture quality and colour accuracy are important since I do a little graphic design, but I haven't considered an IPS monitor since I haven't had too much of an issue with a TN panel.

What about this VA panel?
