I believe it is all in what type of gamer you are. Myself, I enjoy gaming with friends. In the multiplayer side of Playstation 3 I really enjoyed the Resistance Campaign Split-Screen, so much fun we played through it twice. If you need some casual fun, try any racing game with the sixaxis, tons of fun for anyone who's never tried. But honesty the best money I've spent on my PS3 were on the downloadables from the PSN I really enjoy, Pixeljunk Monsters or Eden, Those 2 games have been hours and hours of fun. and for Solitary Gamage: Oblivion/Fallouts (easy to sink a 100 hours into) Uncharted is very beautiful, a must, Rachet & Clank, also very pretty. And if you need a little challenge, Ninja Gaiden was fantastic. Metal Gear Solid isn't for everybody. I think it's one of the best stories ever told. But keep that in mind, it's 1/2 movie, 1/2 game. Definately avoid Assassin's Creed!! Ok, that's enough of my "words of wisdom" ...

I have the same issues, COOP is fantastic provided you don't have any friends. As soon as I try to do split screen, CRASH!!!! I am yet to complete a single came, split screen. I have put hours and hours in with my Medic by myself, but Resistance 2 is 1/2 the game Resistance 1 was without split screen.

I have spent the past 2 weeks putting some good time into Fallout 3 and Resistance 2. I was far more excited for R2 prior to playing either game. But R2 has now let me down. The good, is that the game is amazing. Fantastic Controls, Beautiful Upgrade on the Graphics ( From Resistance 1), new ambitious game-play modes ( 60 - player online!) .... but where Resistance 2 falls short is, it leaves you with huge dissapointment. First and Foremost, they have removed Co-op Campaign, by far, the best part of Resistance 1. My best friend and I played through Resistance on all difficulties together and had the time of our lives doing so. Without Co-op Campaign Resistance is 1/2 the game it used to be... but fear not I'm told, as Resistance 2 has a NEW co-op mode. The new co-op mode is a cinematic-free 8-player flurry. Face-paced, TONS of on-screen enemies and the worst network failures I've experience in a PS3 game yet. I am yet to complete a 2-player Co-op game from start to finish without it crashing. Wouldn't be that big of a deal if I could play through all of the levels continuously... but after each level you are booted out the main menu screen. I was expecting a FPS equivalent of Diablo's Battlenet. This is what I was expecting from the Resistance 2 after playing the Beta. The Beta was one level at a time, frequent crashes ( again, mostly on split screen) but tons of fun when it did work. All in All, Resistance 2 suffers from some serious flaws. If you have no friends, or your friends are never with you in person, only online... this may work out for you. But for those of us who enjoy a great co-op experience, Resistance is NOT it. I will continue playing Fallout and Little Big Planet until I hear of an update to Resistance 2. At some point I will play through the single-player (ONLY!) Campaign, but for now I am very dissapointed. Sephex

What I got from Resistance was an ambitious launch title. I am a big fan of insomniac. The ratches & clank games always had great design, very few flaws, and some of the coolest weapons. Resistance had some REALLY cool weapons. I didn't really dig the online. But my best buddy and I have played through the campain co-op on normal, hard & superhuman and really enjoyed it. Now Resistance 2. Of which I am in the Beta. Kicking Fricken Ass! The Co-op 8-player mode is pure genius. I felt like I was back playing Diablo on Battlenet, having to work together with our different classes, getting our asses handed to us every so often... but it was a FPS... this just hasn't been done. At least not on my 52" in 7.1 HD Surround. I'm not big on deathmatch ... whether it's 8 guys or 60 ... but the COOP system for Resistance 2 ( Along with the level up system) is fantastic. Check it out! Peace

WOW, I can Definately see who here has NOT played Pain any significant amount or doesn't have any friends to play Pain with. 4-Player PAIN is one of the greatest multiplayer experiences possible. Playing PAIN on the weekends with a few buddies, or we often do "couples PAIN" ... has easily logged over 200 hours on my PS3. This game is FANTASTIC. It's new and fresh. It will continue to have new content. The game is challenging and skill can be developed over time. This is NOT a physics demo. So, if you are a friendless loner looking for trophies .... don't bother with Pain ( your lack of Pain-skill will make it difficult to achieve trophies anyway). But if you have friends (1 or more) and want something New and Fun. Check out Pain.

VI & VIII .... I'm glad to see a few other fans of VIII on here. You know those moments in games or movies when they send a shiver down your spine, well when the queen stops the bullet ( and her assassination) I got those shivers!

I am surprised that no one has said that the PS3 has already made sony lose 2 Billion dollars...thats alot. The PS3 is a great system...but it is only a matter of time before it is gone due to the fact sony is losing alot of money.Dillon12221
I love this riduculous post. Not only has Playstaion 2 sold over 120 million units, but PS3 has now posted a profit. Playstation one fueled PS2, Playstation 2 fueled ( and continues to fuel) the PS3, PSN & PSP. We can only imagine what the MASSIVE PS3 will fuel in due time. No other company has 3 products on the market simultaneously and it still profitable.I enjoyed over 6 years of PS2-love, and I expect 8 yrs of gaming/BD enjoyment from my PS3, you cannot say that about either of the 2 competitor products on the market today. They have a Maximum 4 year life span. Absolute Crap.

Exclusives. Blah! Play games you like. I bought a PS3 for Bluray (at launch nonetheless). I have only found a few captivating games. MGS4 & Uncharted are definitely at the top of the list. But I have put more time into PAIN, Monsters & Eden than many other disc based games. Some games are just bloated-crap, Grand Theft Auto, Assassins creed aren't worth the paper the booklets are printed on. Repetative and BORING.... to say the least. Play games you like. If those games are on a reliable system and not one with a 20-30% failure rate, all the better. Standard USB, Bluetooth, Free-Online Play, are other great reasons. Playstation is just forward-thinking.
