I was thinking about creating this thread saying the same thing. I know only a couple of stores near me that will have it for less than the 49.99 price point. One being a place I don't like so much because they've actually lied to me in order to get me to place a pre-order there, the other I don't get to much, and of course Wal-Mart, which is only going to be about 11 cents cheaper which I think I can swing. I mainly place pre-orders not to make sure I get the game on day one, but then it's easier for me to walk in, give them 20 bucks five times, and then I can walk in and walk out with a two games on two different days, without paying a dime at that point.

I'll probably pick it up. But, I'm buying it for the light gun aspect of it rather than the RE side of it. I played RE4, but none of the others. Anyway, my bro and I like to play the random "on rails" light gun games every now and then. I think two players will have way more fun that a single person playing it, just for the laughs. We'll see how it turns out though.

To the user that is trying to argue that the past RE's, for instance, are "on rails," I wouldn't be so sure. "On Rail" game typically mean you do not move yourself, but you might be able to decide which way to go if the game is savvy enough to offer two different directions. The word you are searching for is the fact that the past RE's are "linear." This means you have one way to progress through the game, and no branching paths that can lead you to the same place as another path does. But, you can still move you character. Therefore, you can dodge attacks, and run from enemies, the latter often isn't allowed in "on rail" games. You can doge attacks in some by hiding behind a box or something, but to show how it's on a rail, you can't pick the box you hide behind. If you can, it's probably not an "on rail" game.

To me, it seems that it's not that you would be "over" 3d mario games. You played the game alot, I presume, if you loved it so much, and just because you haven't played it for awhile, certainly doesn't mean you will feel the same about it. I think you should keep an eye out on Galaxy, and if you're still skeptical, then rent it. I know that when I played Mario 64 for the DS, sure, it was cool to get the extra 30 stars, but playing it didn't make me feel like it was as awesome as the orginal release for the N64. I can imagine the same thing happened to you...you already know how to solve the puzzles and such. I just reccomend not ignoring SMG, I assume it will be great, and playing a new game is a entirely different expirence then replaying an emulation of a game you loved way back when.

I have plenty of last-gen games I'm playing to keep me busy until MP3 comes out and beyond. But, right now I'm playing RE4: Wii, which isn't exactly a last-gen game I suppose. I'm also playing Dragon Quest VIII...got it for 15 bucks new. I won't be getting Strikers on launch because I have a bunch other games to play, plus I have other games that are already out that I didn't get. But, I will play through Prime 1 and 2 just before Corruption comes out. Not really for a reason other than to hype me up for it...I've played through both quite a few times...the first more than the second. Don't know when, but Batallion Wars I'll play soon...so I know if I want to get BWii or not.

Yea, I loved Okami. The artwork is that game is just amazing. It really looks great, and I'm really hoping Seeds can create more games with such an artwork style. It would be great if they could aquire the Okami copyright from Capcom and make Okami 2, but I suppose if they can make another game with the same type of artwork, it would be awesome in it's own right.

I think that 100 bucks might not be enough to sway haters of the PS3 to jump on board. It certainly wouldn't allow casual gamers to go and pick it up, 500 bucks is still enough to have to save for a bit for and plan a bit ahead to afford it with other monthy bills that most of them have. But, 500 dollars for a PS3 isn's a bad price. You get the actual game system, that will have more games that are actually worth playing for it eventually. Also, you do get a Blue-ray player. Now, I know it isn't entering most gamers homes to play movies, but it does function as a good player that are otherwise very expensive. Also, with the blue-ray guys offering the five free movies...which *I think* applies to the PS3, that's a good deal. Those are like 30 bucks a movie. If you get 5 movies from that list you actually semi-wanted, you can add even another 100 bucks off the price, and that doesn't even counts the other two movies.

Now, if they don't include those 5 movies...you're still getting a "next-gen" movie player and a "next-gen" game system for $500.

Just my thoughts. I would like to point out that I don't own a PS3, and I probably won't end up buying one this summer, so I'm not just a raving Sony fanboy ;)

And yes gander, it's on the PC through Steam. The one that hosts Half-Life/2 and Counter-Strike, if ya don't know.. It was out for 2.50 and I think it's like 4 bucks now or something.

Sry for the double post.

I'm not quite sure if I'll pick it up. I actually just starting playing it a bit more because I got it for the PC for 3 bucks. Then I started playing it on my bro's 360 a bit more. I personally like the game...but I don't know if I'll buy it for the Wii/DS. It's cool of you don't like it, but when you start a thread like this...expect the people who do really like it to say something.

I like the game...it's fun, but I'm undecided about the Wii version.

I actually just picked up the first one today new for 10 bucks at the local GameStop. Mainly because I've seen a few of these threads about the second one...so I figured I would check out the first one. If I like it, I might just be joining in on the hype for this game.

Language isn't that bad at all. F word isn't used at all...I think there is less than 5 "bad words" in the entire game...if that. But, I also wasn't counting...but the point stands, it's not that bad. Not like Scarface for instance.
