@AJC3317: Have to second the Unchartered advice. Did not seem like my type of game, and did not play 1. drakes fortune, but after hearing so much about #2 Amongst thieves and seeing it on sale I i gave it a try. That and 3 Drakes deception are must plays. Amazing series and Playstation must plays.

The best advice i can give really depends on what type of games you enjoy and if you need the multimedia functionality. If you don't need to stream shows, and like online FPS, like better graphics and a shiny new piece of tech that loads faster there is a lot to keep you gaming on PS4. Personally I have not had a lot of time with my PS4, only have 2k14 and I like it fine enough so far.

That being said I also have the xbone (heresy I know) and have FIFA 14, BF4 and Forza. For me the upgrades of titles from current gen to next gen are significantly improved compared to the PS2 - PS3 ports back in 07. Jumping up to "next gen" is easily keeping me entertained with the current library of games as you are not sacrificing content with this console update (FIFA 07 on 360 may be the worst iteration the port was horrible).

After much thought I like to think of this launch as an upgrade to current generation titles. There is a lot to keep you entertained if you would play battlefield, FIFA, NBA 2K, Madden and/or Assassins on the PS3 etc, and I am not regretting the jump at all. I am loving it a lot more than PS2 to Xbox 360. However there is no harm in waiting either. Right now it is more of a nice to rather than a need to. The PS3 can still deliver, and if you are into multiplayer it is still free on the 3.

PSN id is Undue_influence.

Currently only playing 2K14, as other games (BF4, Forza and Fifa 14) are on Xbone and since i bought that first, have not seen the need for a live subscription and PS+ account yet.

Feel free to add me as I will be getting more into the PS space.

Completely understand the point you are making, and I agree that PCs offer a complete work around to issues (just look at modders and Skyrim) because of the open environment but I also think there is one word that sums up why people love console gaming that was not addressed. Simplicity.

I like PC gaming for Counter Strike and Real Time Strategy, but the computer is so much more than gaming for me. It pushes content for watching movies resulting in going digital, and it syncs songs and shows to mobile devices for commuting and travelling, it is the hub for entertainment, but it is set up at a desk away from the couch and needs a lot of love. PC gaming involves staying on top of RAM, GPU, Processors and whatever you buy is antiquated in 2 years and will struggle to play the latest AAA title. Malware gets involved, formatting is needed, it just becomes time consuming to maintain a PC and then you constantly feel that you never are ahead of the curve because there is always a significant leap coming. That is great for innovation but can be painful for a wallet.Console gaming is easy and convenient.

There is something beautiful about picking up a game with an Xbone or PS4 or whatever preference sticker is on it and knowing once you insert that disk it just works. Console gaming is great because you feel value for money as it just works as part of the lounge room.

One issue I have been having is the system does not always recognise a disc when I put it in. It may just do nothing with it and the home screen says insert disc, or it will come up and tell me to insert a DVD or an XBone game. It is pretty frustrating but nothing harmful yet.

@Undue_Influence: All good everyone found the work around. I could not find Xbone as a device, but saw it under media devices in the network settings. Then allowed all streaming content on the PC to go to xbone. When wanting to stream a video you need to have xbox video open and use play to on the PC in windows media player. Hope this saves some other users 2.5 hours messing around.

@gamerguy1415: I think you should wait until next year before investing in the Xbone. If you have the PS4, and have the wii u the big exclusive you are missing out on is Forza, which may or may not be reason enough for you to invest. Aside from that developers seems to be getting more out of the PS4 with the multi platforms like Black Flag, Fifa, Battlefield and COD. Since you have the PS4 letting MS iron out the kinks before joining won't disadvantage you.

@Goliath2180: I currently have the PX5's, and they are pretty good head sets, but cost $270 here in Australia, and i am not convinced they are significantly better than my Gamecom's for PC ($120). If you have the reach go wired, great sound and not as expensive, otherwise PX5 are a good option.
