No offense mate but the standard of some gamers are just too low, yeh we had Mario Galaxy...great game but the easiest 3D Mario game so far....yeh we had Zelda TP...not even in the same class as Ocarina of Time..Metroid Prime 3 not as good as Metroid Prime 1 or 2.stike22

No offense, but the standard of some gamers are exceedingly high. You can't expect every Zelda to score a 11 out of 10. Regarding the issue of the overall difficulty of the mentioned games, I think you're missing a crucial concept of such implementations. Nintendo is trying to bring gaming to the masses, which include demographics who have never played before or have stopped playing. Having the difficulty bumped up to the point of where it is just fine for most 'hardcore' gamers - arguably the same level where it would be frustrating for newcomers, isn't exactly the best idea when compared to having a game such as Super Mario Galaxy for example, an "all access" game where the difficulty of completing it is at your discretion. If I remember correctly, Nintendo is adding guides to its games within the software or something to that extent, so the possibility of a bump in overall difficulty in future games is there.

The games are getting either easier or they are lacking something, if Nintendo is gonna make us wait then the games had best be better then previous gens...but they are not unless your a noob Nintendo fan...again not being offensive got nothing against noobs but the fact is Nintendo is taking too long to make their games.

I have completed all the great games on Wii about 3 times over, thats around 17 games, all completed. Need more and Nintendo just is getting them out quick enough...AS FOR SHOVELWARE that never seems to stop coming out...Nintendo needs to control their damn console and start releasing some more good bloody games on it, because its a sick joke.stike22

So you would like games to come out at a faster rate and yet at the same time it takes time to create quality software. Quantity over quality or vice versa, I'm confused with your preference here. In before "if Nintendo is gonna make us wait then the games had best be better then previous gens", refer to my above quote "You can't expect every Zelda to score a 11 out of 10". In before "why not have quality and quantity?", refer to my above quote "No offense, but the standard of some gamers are exceedingly high".

As for 'bloody' games, I may have the wrong assumption in the context in which that word was used, but such games were never Nintendo's preference. Even so, that doesn't stop games like Madworld and Resident Evil from being released.

And where the heck is STARFOX! F-Zero! Nintendo promised games like this ages ago...Starfox is supposedly in development however its been years and not a single word yet they can make all these other crap gimmick games like there's no tomorrow! thats why Nintendo is getting cursed at the moment.

The Wii is a fine console and I haven't got a problem with it, however Nintendo isn't putting it to its full potential, instead they are wasting time with crap games and take ages to bring out the proper games...I haven't had a Wii game since BRAWL!...thats what 6months without a damn game! thats a damn joke!stike22

I've been hungry for Star Fox since the N64 version as well : /. The ones released since on the GC took away all the pros of what made me love the original SNES and N64 versions.

As for Nintendo releasing gimmicky games, I'd like to know what you're refering to. If its about the GC remakes, I have no comment. As for everything else including Wii Sports and Wii Fit, these are software that have been proven to expand the gaming market as an introduction to newcomers on what the Wii is all about and the potential, the possibilities of gaming. The fact that gaming has become/is becoming mainstream and a lifestyle is in large due to Nintendo's approach and continued efforts in market expansion.

Nintendo needs to restore itself now and get back to making quality because from what I have seen on Wii games its a sick joke, you physically have to dig past the shovelware in shops just to find one decent game, its that bad. Nintendo's golden age was N64 and anything before, Gamecube was underrated and is better then Wii as far as I am concerned and Wii was a great idea but it has more shovelware then anything else.stike22

Shovelware aside, the rest of your remarks are all subjective. Regardless of whether or not games this generation (from Nintendo) exceeded their predecessors, they were widely regarded as 'quality games'.

I hate when a gamer acts like they're cooler then other gamers.

im acting as if im cooler or anything, but i call them like i see them, and at least if your gonna sexualize something make it something thats supposed to be sexual nothing it mario world is intended to be like that, and this comes off as perverted, im not saying im better at least i look at real girls to be a pin up girls , but come on at least lara croft or someone human looking, or even Samus, or Zelda

All men are perverts.

Although that'd be interesting to see, I think its better to leave Naruto in Naruto fighting games. That said, the Naruto Shippuden fighting game for the Wii needs to have its stateside release already :?

[QUOTE="SkyGTRline"]

First time posting on the PS3 board (I usually dwell on the Wii boards) as I am wondering if the Star Ocean series made by Square-Enix will ever come onto this platform. I loved the series on PS2 and it'd be really great news if it came to the PS3. Also I'm looking for recommendations on horror/survival titles that fall into the category of games such as F.E.A.R. I already have F.E.A.R 2 for the PS3 and already pre-ordered RE5, just wondering if there is anything else besides what I've mentioned.

taplok

i don't know about Star Ocean... Survival Horror... go with Dead Space.

Is it confirmed that Star Ocean will be coming to the PS3 eventually? Thanks for the help and thanks again in advance.

I take it this Jaysonguys response to all the complaints about Dead Space becoming a rails-shooter. There's one thing your missing though. Its not that everyone wanted the EXACT same game just ported to Wii. What has everyone up-in-arms is the fact that they completely changed the genre of the game and created a quick, lazy, easy, cop-out to satisfy Wii owners.

Tell me why they couldn't have made the same Dead Space prequel for Wii, but keep it a third-person, survival-horror game in the same vein as RE4 or the original Dead Space and expand upon the formula? Wii can push out decent enough graphics. Wii can do "strategic dismemberment". Wii can handle the art and sound design used to create the Dead Space atmosphere. Wii can obviously handle the gameplay and do it better as RE4 Wii Edition has proven. So why make it an on-rails shooter?

Tell me what is unique or innovative about turning it into a rails shooter? If anything, that is the most blatantly obvious genre choice if you want to make a Wii game. Its the "easy way out" when it comes to creating a game on this particular console. EA has said they are going to "innovate" on the rails-shooter genre. I would REALLY like to know how they are going to do that considering these games have been around for ages and haven't moved forward in any way other than graphics and camera movement.

Don't get me wrong, I do like the occasional "light gun" game. Umbrella Chronicles was pretty good, but I hope they NEVER do that to the franchise again. The House of the Dead games were always that type of game and Overkill is great because of its style. But Dead Space, like Resident Evil, just should not be an on-rails shooter. Those games are meant to be scary. They are meant to instill the player with fear and portray the feeling of constant, impending doom. How are they going to accomplish that with a rails game? Umbrella Chronicles couldn't do it. The HotD games have never done it. No rails game ever has. There is only so much you can do with that type of game, and creating the feel and atmosphere of what Dead Space is, it definitely can't!

I will reserve my final judgement until I actually play the game as I always do, but i'm not blind to the fact that despite Wii's limitations, it can and does offer so much more than just rails shooters when bringing over major franchises. EA could've done SO much more, but they took the easy road and chose to turn Dead Space into something that's easily accessible and, dare I say, "casualized" for its Wii incarnation.

Again, noone was looking for it to be a direct port, but this isn't what people had in mind either.

And yes, I'll be the one to say it, Dead Rising Chop Til You Drop doesn't seem so bad now does it, Wii-horror fans? :P

Unkoil666

Took the words directly out of my mouth and saved me the time of writing a long post :P. The Wii is more than capable of handling great third person shooters, RE4: Wii Edition is the prime example and that was a Gamecube game. The Wii is capable of so much more and yet, we keep getting on-rails shoved in our faces. Just by drawing a brief comparison between RE:UC and RE4, the lasting appeal between the two doesn't even begin to compare while they're both great games. On-rails just isn't as scary since you're being directed the whole way through just like a movie where as third person shooters puts a lot more emphasis on exploration and plenty of fear inducing scenarios on whats unknown around that dark corner.

Even if the on-rails genre is ideal for a system such as the Wii, there is no excuse as to why great third person shooters can't co-exist. Now as I've stated before and I'll state again, I have nothing against on-rail shooters. RE:UC and HoTD were both a blast to play and I'm not denying the potential of a Dead Space version, but we've all seen the potential of great third person shooter games - a genre that continues to remain non-existant on this platform.

[QUOTE="umcommon"][QUOTE="loco145"]Come on. Re:UC require tons more skill than the original Dead Space did.JordanElek

Speaking of which how many people were mad about RE:UC being on rails: a lot. How did RE:UC sell in comparison to it's superior RE:4 counterpart... poor. IF RE:UC would of been made in the same fashion as RE:4 I bet it would of sold over 2 million.

How mad people are doesn't say anything about the quality of the game, and neither does the number of sales (though sometimes that can be an indication).

Umbrella Chronicles is a high-quality game that also happens to be very fun. It's not like any other game in the RE series, but that isn't always a bad thing.

People are crying "cash in" and "lazy" and "casual game that requires no skill." This game could turn out to be a well-made, high-quality, fun game, and it sounds like a lot of people here will pass it up just because it isn't what they wanted it to be. If this didn't have the Dead Space name attached, would we be seeing the same reactions? I can understand disappointment, but the utter rage and language that demeans the game itself just screams overreaction.

Even if the game had a name other than Dead Space, it'd still be more or less a HotD 3.0 for the Wii. Sure the game could indeed turn out to be a fantastic experience and there could be factors that differentiate the two, but in the end it is another on-rails shooter and cliche on top of what we already have compared to what it could've been if they had taken a different route - which can be safely said as the latter is what the majority of us here expected to our own disappointment. What many Wii owners have been thirsting for is a wider variety and selection in titles with high production values and quality polish instead of more of the same, so while I'm not too disappointed myself as my choices for gaming isn't limited to the Wii, I can somewhat understand the "utter rage and over-reaction" coming from Wii exclusive owners who've become quick to brush it off as a "lazy cash-in" given the history of what the console itself has become quite notorious for up to this point.

i think nintendo should and push up the graphics and add some bonus wii stuff like new levels or mini games. i would so buy it! Would u? :PNintenkid49

Super Mario Galaxy controls where you aim the FLUDD instead of shooting star bits, priced no more than $20 and all without devoting much time or resources to hamper whatever other projects they may be working on and I'm there. If such a project would delay the release of the next Zelda or Mario by even a month though, I'd disagree with such remakes.

You could try contacting your router's technical support. If that doesn't work, I'd try Nintendo's. Nintendo has a lot of router information and support topics regarding issues such as that, you might find the help you need there. If you still need help, you can post on their technical support forums here, or give them a call at: 1-800-255-3700
