@downnice95: I don't even think they truly know if those bomb threats were even done by gamers at all, so I think that's still up for speculation.

With that being said, everything else does have a lot of truth to it. From the Zoe Quinn and Phil Fish fiasco, the PSN/Xbox Live hacks, and the games journalism corruption (which has happened for a while) are definitely issues that need to be addressed. I do agree that this is a great community, but it has been poisoned by trolls and scoundrels. It needs to stop for sure, but it must take the collective efforts of both game developers and gamers themselves if we're ever going to see a true change away from this bullshit.

Crap like that happens because chronic failures would rather harass those who succeed (usually through a lot of hard work, especially with solo developers like Zoe) so that they aren't the only ones who feel like shit. It's absolutely not right but it's all these people have. They have no job (or if they do have one, minimal hours and pay), no friends and nothing else constructive going on in their lives. It's as sad as it is infuriating, especially given that they hurt something we love because they tear down the people who are essentially the salvation of the industry.

Being a GameStop employee, I'm pretty confident that they'll honor it, though I don't recall those things expiring.

I would agree in regards to the Vita. Sony never really established their handheld consoles. The only reason the PSP was popular was because it had all the functionality of smart phones of that time before smart phones caught on. There was no real game library to speak of (minus a few decent Square Enix titles and the excellent remake of Final Fantasy Tactics) and the Vita has the same issue. The 3DS has some great functionality but it's become as huge as it has because it has a fantastic library backing it up. I know people poke fun at how many Mario games and other first-party Nintendo titles there are, but you can't argue their quality. Link Between Worlds won GotY last year for a reason. The 3DS did struggle at first but...this is Nintendo. They do weird things and make it work, especially with their handhelds. They brought the system around with a vengeance. I would've agreed with EA on the Wii U up until the release of Mario Kart 8. That game suddenly made the system cool. That's the start to a turn around for the console, I think. Smash Bros is coming, and I think third-party developers are taking a second look, in particular at the gamepad. It seems like it might be clunky and difficult to use, but it is, quite surprisingly, a lot of fun and quite comfortable. The Arkham City rerelease proved that it has all sorts of potential for cool functionality. Assuming the Wii U version of Watch Dogs doesn't get fully cancelled, I think that'll be a huge demonstration of just what the gamepad can do. Also, bouncing back to first-party titles, you can't ever count out the Legend of Zelda franchise. A Zelda title has an unbelievable amount of power over gamers, and Nintendo has very rarely failed to deliver on the franchise. They've been teasing the Wii U Zelda essentially since the system released in 2012 and if it's even half as good as they're making it out to be it should be one of the hallmark games of this generation. Finally, this is EA making these statements. EA was voted the most evil company for two years running over freaking BP (even during the year of the oil spill), among others. If you haven't learned to distrust them by now then there's no hope for you :P They have some really talented subsidiaries and all, but the parent company is so cartoonishly evil and out of touch with the industry that I don't understand why anybody takes anything they say seriously any more. They're like Al Gore in the Manbearpig episode of South Park.

I used XSplit Gamecaster to broadcast to Twitch, and I've run into a few oddities with it and games older than 2010 or so. I tried to stream my playthrough of Neverwinter Nights but I couldn't even access the control overlay, and I just recently picked up a game called Scratches that's had a particularly odd issue. It's a first-person, point-and-click horror adventure game from 2007. It allows me to access the overlay, but it makes the screen go black. I can still manipulate things with the keyboard and the sound's still there but...no visuals. Any way to fix this?

I'm not sure if this was present in previous gens and how many others know about this, but I thought I'd share. When breeding, I'm sure most of you know that when the Day Care Man out front is facing front rather than looking over the fence that an egg has been laid. Talk to him and accept the egg and then go inside immediately after the last conversation box disappears. If you do it fast enough it should've glitched another egg into existence. At the very least it's happened to me twice now so maybe it's just me.
