I had no idea that Obsidian had teased KotOR 3. I wouldn't mind them making it for the most part. Their story telling's gotten a lot better, just hope they do a bit better with the nuts and bolts stuff. Their programming and design have always been a little unpredictable in terms of quality.

Hrm. Interesting. Did not know that SF V was not coming to XB1. I can't help but wonder if that'll be a timed exclusive. SF IV and the various iterations of it seemed to sell really well on both systems.

So, did you start playing multiplayer games?

If that was aimed at me, then yes. I never really stopped, but I haven't enjoyed them this much in a long time. :)

I thought I was for the longest time. I'd grown disenchanted with bland yearly releases and mediocre story telling. My Xbox One and Wii U had been collecting dust for months, but then Mario Kart 8 and Titanfall hit in the early part of the year. I'd had them pre-ordered for some time and picked 'em up on day one as per the usual. They made me sit down and actually acquaint myself with the systems and the games themselves.

I loved the Wii U but Mario Kart 8 was the first game that made me want to show it off to the world. It's such an amazing game. The system has experienced a meteoric rise since Mario Kart 8 and that's culminated this year in Super Smash Bros U just a little over a week ago. Smash U is, as of right now, my personal pick for the ultimate multiplayer experience. 8 player local matches are the best home console multiplayer innovation since Goldeneye brought split screen FPS multiplayer to consoles on the N64.

After Microsoft's disastrous 2013 E3 I, who'd been amping up all my friends and anybody else who'd listen about the Xbox One, totally shunned the idea of getting the system. Then release day rolled around last year, my store had an extra console and I couldn't really stop myself. For the longest time afterward I wondered why I'd even bought. I only had CoD: Ghosts and, frankly, was disappointed with the game save for Extinction mode. I hadn't really explored any of system's functionality and didn't see many games over the course of this year I'd be really interested in picking up for it. I was frustrated and felt like I'd wasted my money. Titanfall came along and suddenly I found myself spending more time on the One. Not long after that Microsoft brought their Games with Gold initiative to the One and I spent even more time with the system. Since then I've found that the broad focus Microsoft took with the console yielded some pretty cool things, including Twitch functionality and neat little things like being able to route your cable through the console, among others. The icing on the cake has been great games like Sunset Overdrive and Dragon Age: Inquisition. DA:I has made play through games like I did 10 years ago. Er, also, I should mention that I held on to my 360 for a year after getting the One, which I've since realized held me back from really exploring the Wii U and the One.

All these experiences have made me realize that there's still plenty to love in the industry despite how much its given us to hate. As an adult I get so tired of video games some times, but then I indulge in the pure multiplayer bliss of Mario Kart or Smash Bros or wander the huge, organic world of Dragon Age and remember why I love the medium so much.

I fired up my Xbox One about half an hour ago to play some more DA but something weird happened. In the main box on my dashboard was the screen for Netflix, which I expected as my sister had been borrowing it for that purpose yesterday. I hit the settings button and quit out of it and then fired up DA:I, but when I did all I got was a frozen screen of where I last was in the game with a message stating that I was gonna be kicked back to DA's start menu due to a change in profiles. I tried to hit the B button to make it happen but, as I say, it was frozen. So I went back to the dashboard, quit out and restarted the game. Now it won't go past the initial loading screen. The loading icon in the bottom right corner will flash once and then nothing. It never goes past that loading screen. I checked the disc after quitting out the first time and it's still in perfect condition. Has this happened to anybody else and does anybody know how to fix it?

I picked one up today, the Mini Pro Ex specifically. Not sure if you guys are familiar with those, but I picked one up for 360 and used it as a PC controller as well as for my system. I traded in the latter controller along with all my 360 stuff to pick up a few more controllers for my XB1 as well as paying off a pre-order. What I'm wondering is, do you guys know if the Mini Ex Pro Xbox One controller works for PC?

I abstained. The only reason I was interested in it was the hope that it might have 4 player split-screen like the Modern Warfare games. Like Ghosts, though, it did not so I didn't even bother. Went with the Master Chief Collection instead. Definitely the title.

I know this'd be a touchy subject, but I think they should take a slightly bigger leap in world history and try the American Civil War. You don't get much more gray than that conflict. It'd probably piss off a lot of people in my area, though.

Fortunately the number of releases I'm actually picking up is limited, so I'm ok. Originally I was only getting Dragon Age: Inquisition and Smash Bros U, but I ended up adding the Master Chief Collection at the last minute because it finally gives me a game with four player split-screen multiplayer on my Xbox One for when my brother comes down for Thanksgiving.
