[QUOTE="Pearl_of_Egypt"]I think it's the type of movie that appeals mostly to teenage guys, probably because they feel they can relate. and probably why I didn't like it, being a grown woman. -San-

im a girl and i liked it...

which is why I said "mostly"

I thought it was a stupid movie, and I'm one to like crude comedy.

that would probably be the first (and only) time I ever truly got drunk at a club. I never usually drink too much, usually just enough to get tipsy, but my cousins were visiting and we went out and my cousin kept passing me shots. now I'm a small girl and I get tipsy of just a drink of two but that night I had maybe 10 straight vodka shot in the span of 30 minutes. needless to say I don't remember most of that night save the three times I fell flat on my ass in the middle of the dance floor.

Islam is not peaceful. It is contradicting and you will find lots of violent passages against "unbelievers"

Examples:

9:5 Then, when the sacred months have passed, slay the idolaters wherever ye find them, and take them (captive), and besiege them, and prepare for them each ambush. But if they repent and establish worship and pay the poor-due, then leave their way free. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

9:73O Prophet! Strive against the disbelievers and the hypocrites! Be harsh with them. Their ultimate abode is hell, a hapless journey's end.

9:123O ye who believe! Fight those of the disbelievers who are near to you, and let them find harshness in you, and know that Allah is with those who keep their duty (unto Him).

Please before you quote an iyat in the Quran look into the history of it. Research the life of Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) and the struggle with the people of Mecca you might understand.

the situation doesn't make it okay to say things like that because the problem is that these passages are still used today and they don't just address the particular situation of the time, they address Muslims as a whole and how they should behave.

Christianity is just about the same way though.. We can't cherry pick likethis when we look at all rational points.. Realize that the middle east is mainly controled by extremists, or dicators in third world countries.. The last time we had anything remotely close like that was during the dark ages with christianity for the west.. When that happened, oh I don't know I think the Spanish inquistion alone burned tens of thousands of people at the stake for suspected witch craft. In the end every major religion can be very brutal.

is there a passage in the Bible that clearly says to kill?

Oh I don't know the stoning to death passages give it really clear.... Top that most Chrisitians in cruades said that"thou shalt not kill" only applied to the same religious followers.. Lets not forget many people during those ages were burned at the stake for suspected witch craft.. In the end proof is the Islamic population in the United States is livign peacefully.

stoning passages? like the one where Jesus tells people not to stone unless they aren't sinners themselves?

and the rest of your examples are again awful things the people did, but not what the religion says to do, like you said it says "thou shalt not kill" but the *people* changed it the way they wanted.
