I guess it was inevitable. I wish I could take a wait and see attitude, but the tone of this article perfectly reflects my attitude towards this game. When people ask why there's so much hate for mobile games, they need only look at things like Dungeon Keeper and this to know the reason.

Things like this make me want to avoid potentially good games like Battlefield 4 just to keep my money out of EA's coffers. It's really impressive how out of touch he is with what gamers want even as he claims to know. It may look good to shareholders, but it's not at all an accurate reflection of what the market is looking for.

That's fair enough, at least you identified a definite, specific issue with it. For the record, my cousins, who are much more into D3 than I am, had the same complaints about it. My issue is with the folks, like the other guy who replied to me, who just said "plenty of reasons" with some insulting words and assume everyone has to agree with them.

I might pick it up. Unlike a lot of people, who as is often the case just say "worst game EVAR" without providing any reasons, I liked the game for the most part. I had major issues with the AH system, but that's not exactly something they can just stop after introducing it. The main reason I would not get this is just because I have a huge backlog and getting a timesink like this would cause it to balloon again.

I don't get why this shows up on my GameFAQs news feed, but articles about the various games PS Plus offers for free don't. Well, there is an explanation, but I don't want to be one of those guys constantly accusing every site they're on of being biased. It's still a bit hard to overlook.

To this I say, there are plenty of other hungry developers who don't treat their fans like garbage, so good riddance. That's why I don't accept the "deal with it" attitude some people have. There's always someone else waiting in the wings, I don't have to give money to someone who thinks he's better than me and everyone else in the world when there's always an alternative. If he didn't want all this negative attention, he shouldn't have sought it out in the first place.

I'm getting PC version of everything I can for now, but I know PS4 games will eventually outdo my rig (which is pretty good but not mindblowing). After that I'll start to get PS4 games. I'm really looking forward to this game, though.

It's really amazing how quickly opinion on Gearbox turned. I'm taking a wait and see attitude, but if all they're doing is spitshining the game and not making major changes to the mechanics it seems hard to screw up. The problem is Gearbox isn't really known for their mindblowing graphics skills even at their best moments, so there might be better equipped studios to handle this. Still, if your response to them releasing a classic game both unaltered and in HD on steam is to hate on them, I think you need to wait a bit and actually see something before judging.

Just saying, as an expat living in Japan, I can give Sony all of my money(and Steam, and Microsoft after some arm twisting but fat chance of that happening next gen) and play the games I want. I can't do that with new Nintendo devices, despite the fact that I could on my DS. Even though there are some 3DS games I want to play, I'm very unlikely to get one because I don't want to have to choose between only games I fully understand and only games I don't have to import. Choice is good.

I know I'm not exactly a large market for these companies, but I'm willing to argue the average expat is a bigger gamer than the guys living at home just because of how you end up living abroad.

Good job Sony. It's kind of sad Sony's getting accolades for just keeping the status quo, but Microsoft going full on anti-consumer jerk mode will do that. As an American living abroad, this is especially good news to me since it means I have a choice between games in my language and local games as well.
