[QUOTE="spike6958"]No matter how much people try to hid it, Metroid Prime is a FPS. It's a very unique FPS, but an FPS non the less, just because it's a different approach to the genera don't change that. In fact I'd go as far as to say Metroid Prime is MORE of an FPS than CoD or Halo is. In CoD and Halo shooting is only used for killing enemy's, everything else is done by other means, but in Metroid Prime, shooting is not only required for killing enemy's, but also for opening doors, collecting items and solving puzzles. You shoot EVERYTHING in Metroid Prime, even more so than in traditional FPS games.MAILER_DAEMONI've never understood why people just can't accept First Person Adventure as a genre. Metroid has always been an Adventure series, and it continues on in the Prime games. You shoot everything in the Primes because you also shot everything and then some in the 2D games.
It could easily be adventure also. So I can agree with this. Especially the gamecube games where there is no aiming involved at all. All auto-targeting.
