I noticed this earlier and figured I should probably pass the info along.

The Final Fantasy 25th Anniversary Sale begins on the US PSN tomorrow, when the PSN store updates.  Several FF games will be available for 50% off regular price for the next 2 weeks.

The games included in the deal are as follows:

  • DISSIDIA 012[duodecim] FINAL FANTASY (PSP)
  • DISSIDIA DUODECIM PROLOGUS FINAL FANTASY (PSP)
  • DISSIDIA FINAL FANTASY (PSP)
  • FINAL FANTASY Tactics: War of Lions (PSP)
  • Final Fantasy (PSOne Classics)
  • Final Fantasy II (PSOne Classics)
  • FINAL FANTASY IV: Complete Collection (PSP)
  • Final Fantasy V (PSOne Classics)
  • Final Fantasy VI (PSOne Classics)
  • Final Fantasy VII (PSOne Classics)
  • Final Fantasy VIII (PSOne Classics)
  • Final Fantasy IX (PSOne Classics)

Really not a bad deal for FF fans, especially if you're looking for more incentive to buy one of these games.

With the 50% off, many of them will be about $5 and the cheaper ones could be like $2.50.  The Dissidia games will still probably be more expensive than that, but still it's a good deal all around.

Unless you plan on making a profit from these games, it's an expense, not an investment. :P

I, for one, am not interested in any Final Fantasy game with random encounters. Why doesn't Chrono Trigger go on sale? I'd spring for that.

Lol while many of the enemies you already see on screeen you do realize that Chrono Trigger has a lot of random encounters as well.

Nope, never played it, but I want to. :P But I've heard that most battles aren't random, so I can actually see myself playing it.

From what I can tell this sale still isn't in effect.  Checking on the PC though, haven't looked on my Vita since earlier this morning.

Man, what is taking them so long to update PSN?

Slashkice

PSN almost never updates this early. They usually do it in the afternoon PST time, meaning you'll have to wait a few more hours.

Oh man. I just realized today is only Tuesday. I thought yesterday was Tuesday for a little while, and thought they were behind that much more. lol

Are there any problems playing the PSOne classic versions on the Vita?

I'm doing some traveling and was thinking about buying all of them to replay them.

Also, if I get a Dissidia game, which one should I get?

Cool stuff here. Glad I came lurking around this area are I would have missed out on this deal. Though...anyone wanna share there opinion on FFIX? I'm trying to decide if I should get that one or not. i wasn't the biggest fan of the bits and pieces I played, so i don't really remember much of it. None of it actually.

I will say that Final Fantasy Tactics (PSOne) is also available in the sale.  FF5 is nowhere to be found on the Vita PSN yet, but maybe they will fix that at some point?

Personally, it's one of my faves.  I still think it is one of the games that either you love or hate - it all comes down to which aspects of the series you like and dislike.

Really, I enjoyed all of the first 10 FF games just fine.  I don't think you will find too many people who agree on which games in the series are good and bad, and why.  It's really a preference thing.

I thought that 4, 6, and 9 were easily the best in the series.

If I was only going to buy one of the PSP games, either Dissidia 012 or Final Fantasy IV: Complete, which one should I get?

I don't like the load times compared to the SNES version, but it's the closest we can get to portability.
