Ah, no such luck :(

Although the blue screen stayed around long enough for me to see this: "Page fault in non-paged area". I'll search around and see what that turns up.

Hmm, it did come with drivers but there are a couple issues with that. The CD only supports up to Vista (I'm running W7 x64), it's listed as optional, and you need to be connected to your monitor. The official W7 driver from the LG site is a zip file containing: A .cat, .icm, and .inf file. Besides that being hella' weird, there is an 'install' option when you right click on the .inf file, but it just ends up giving me an error message.

Well, fingers crossed that reinstalling the drivers for my 5850 does the trick.

I'm using HDMI for both setups, so nothing's changed connection wise.

So I just bought a new monitor (LG W2442P) to replace the TV I've been using for the last year. Problem is, Windows refuses to start when it's connected to the monitor. I get a flash of blue screen and then an error message saying "Windows failed to start". I hooked everything back up to my TV to see if I'd busted anything while moving it around, and lo and behold my PC works perfectly again.

If anyone has a guess as to what's causing this, I'd be much obliged. Thanks guys :)

While my favorite soundtrack would have to be Metroid Prime's, I'd rather give props to my second favorite; Total Annihilation by Jeremy Soule.

Here's a sample, and a great review:

The performance of the music is brilliant. The 96 piece Northwest Sinfonia really bring out all the appropriate phrasing and character of the music and give a very dynamic performance. The choir gives some tracks an extra subtle layer of atmosphere, which works really well, especially in some of the peace tracks such as "Charred Dreams" and "Desolation".

The peace tracks feature very slow, moody, tension building music, and also give a good depiction of a war torn desolate wasteland. Again, there's a good variety in these tracks too, from shimmering strings in "Death and Decay" to sombre solos from the cello in "Licking Wounds", from the cor anglais in "Where am I?" to a low droning bass in "Futile Attempt". "Stealth" is very clever, as underneath the tuned instruments there are some percussion lines that almost sound like they could be electronic (in a good way). On their own, as stand-alone tracks the peace tracks aren't quite as interesting to listen to as the battle tracks as they're more about atmosphere but they're still well worth a listen.Excerpt

Seems the glorious leader of LulzSec got arrested, it's all over now... wait... we're all still here! Which poor *** did they take down?LulzSec

Heck, even if the FBI did grab one of the LulzSec members, that doesn't necessarily mean they'll disband. Not that I'm rooting for them or anything.

Edit: They just tweeted this:

Ryan Cleary is not part of LulzSec; we house one of our many legitimate chatrooms on his IRC server, but that's it.LulzSec

That guy is a ****ing nut. And this is coming from the guy who's occasionally gotten bored and drunk and lonely, and then intentionally made tarantulas and scorpions bite/sting him in order to see whatr happens. That's bad enough, but this guys is INSANE. Scorpions I can deal with. Tarantulas I can deal with. But you do NOT **** around with giant-ass centipedes. Seriously, those things WILL completely **** you up. 1) While there's only been one well-documented case of anyone ever being killed by a giant centipede (and this was a 7 year old girl), giant centipede venom has been characterized as some of the most painful venom in the entire animal kingdom. It won't KILL you, but grown men have been reported to dip their limbs in boiling water in order to relieve the pain from giant centipede bites. This **** ain't nothing to **** around with. 2) Tarantulas are easy. They bite your ass once, then run away. Scorpions will sting your ass once, then run away. Not so with centipedes. You do NOT **** around with giant centipedes. See that picture of the giant centipede? Do you see the 40-something legs that that thing has? Well, centipedes have this thing that they do to predators. They'll wrap themselves around the predator, hold tight wight every single leg (this is a surprisingling strong grip, even for a centipede only a couple of inches long), then they **** hold onto you so that they can chew on you while injecting poisonous and painful venom. Consider that for a minute. a rattlesnake will bite you really quickly, then run the **** away. Meanwhile, centipedes are willing to cling onto you and CHEW on you, just to inject that much more excruciatingly painful venom into you. The venom won't kill you. And by chewing on you, the centipede is pretty much guaranteeing that you kill it. Doesn't matter. That centipede is willing to go that extra effort to hurt the HELL out of you, even if that results in its own death. Centipedes, fine. Scorpions, fine. Play with those things to your heart's content. But you do NOT **** around with giant-ass centipedes. Seriously. And I'm not even remotely joking here. Scorpions and spiders are relatively predicatable. Centipedes, on the other hand, are very unpredictable, incredibly strong, and WILL totally **** you up if you don't give them the proper respect. Those things are scary as hell.
I'd more than likely shake it off and kill it. MrGeezer
Easier said than done. Did I mention the 40-something arms, and how strong this animal's grip is when it doesn't want to move? Best bet (as far as I can see is to wait till it starts walking). This is critical, because that's the critical moment when every single leg is is dedicated to forwards locomotion (rather than holding onto your arm). That's your one chance to grab this ****er and fling it across the room as hard as you can. Wait until every single leg is moving, then grab and throw it. And you'd better grab and throw it as fst as is humanly possible. Otherwise, you risk getting bitten. As I said, spiders and scorpions are predictable as hell. With them, all you have to do is not ****ing move. And chances are that the spider/scorpion won't bite/sting you. After all, if you aren't moving, then the spider/scorpion won't think that you're a big-ass animal. The spider/scorpion will just think that you're a wall and/or a floor. And when was the last time you saw a spider or a scorpion bite/sting a stationary wall/floor? They don't do that ****. As long as you don't ****ing move, you're pretty safe from spiders and scorpions. Centipedes are another matter. Centipedes absolutely WILL run along a floor, hit a wall, and then bite the hell out of a wall. Remaining motionless will NOT save your ass from centipedes. If a centipede encounters an obstacle, it will bit the hell out of that obstacle. If that obstacle doesn't react to the bite, then it's a wall, and the centipede climbs up that wall. By contrast, if the centipede bites an obstacle and that obscale DOES react, that just gets the centipede to REALLY bite the hell out of that obstacle (which in this case is "your arm"). Spiders don't bite walls, scorpions don't sting floors, and bears don't arbitrarily try to murder the ground. Centipedes, on the other hand, actually WILL bite and envenomate walls and floors for no apparent ****ing reason. And if that wall/floor happens to be your ARM, then God help you.
:| I now have a deep fear of centipedes...

It appears I was in the wrong here.

He said today, that his last moderation was for saying something against people who didn't accept interracial marriages.Baconbits2004

Ah, so that really was it. Understandable to get a little 'hot under the collar' in a topic like that; especially Theo. Well, I hope he enjoys his new freedom at TDH :)

Nifty page you linked me to. I wasn't aware you could do this. o.o
Where I'm getting confused though, is that he posted a screencap of his moderation history.

And if I recall correctly, it showed something else as his last moderation...Baconbits2004

Hmm, interesting. The Mods still moderate any violations after a poster is banned, so perhaps Theo's screencap was before they deleted that post? I don't know, but at any rate that means the race mixing thread had nothing to do with his banning I suppose. Did he say what he posted in the conspiracy thread that earned him the boot?
