well, DD only titles tend to be more niche when it comes to consoles, in my experience, they tend to be less noticed and less time spent playing them. The purpose of the thread was to see what titles gamers spend the majority of time playing, be they exclusives or multiplat. DD titles are overwelming on PC, as its a great way for new devs to break through. Including them for all platforms would skew the results hugely in favour of the PC, but with titles that are not necessarily known or played by many gamers. Im happy to check them out after, but for now just compare retail releases.BibMaghoo

I definitely play more multiplats than exclusives either way, I'm just mildly annoyed that certain games are being ignored simply because of their distribution plan. (And no, games are not niche or unkown/unplayed because they're DD-only either; at least in the PC market. Didn't realize there was this big of a gap in how console/PC gamers view DD-only titles...)

Ah, I'm just nitpicking. As long as people clarify what they play the most, it doesn't really matter.

I'm curious, why ignore DD-only titles; especially considering the modern PC market? Anyways, here's the count of my PC titles:

Exclusive: 39 (+16 DD)
Multiplat: 60 (+9 DD)

I've only purchased a portion through Steam, but my profile has the rest. (and a few extra I didn't count)

newzoo is where that graph comes from, they noted that it's wrong and put out new graphs last year and this year. take the time to look at them and verify what you are talking about.fadersdream

I'm curious, could you show me a link to where they said this pie chart was wrong? Thing is, they haven't seen fit to alter or remove this exact chart from their site. Until shown otherwise, I don't think anyone has a basis for dismissing that chart just yet.

[QUOTE="BranKetra"]You have an impressive collection of wallpapers. I hope you don't mind if I take a look.Meat_Wad_Fan

That is rather impressive considering I only have about 20 downloaded. Care to share where you find most of your's Nagru?

Thanks guys. Most of them now-a-days come from Wallbase or Deviant-art, but I also check places like Customize.org and Interfacelift.com, as well as what I stumble across in Google/TinEye searches. Nothing particularily exciting, just takes a little time to sort through and try to find the artist.

You are going to want to link that, doesnt matter if it is boring or not, people wont believe you if you dont link brah.Gamingclone

I'm okay with that; not getting moderated takes precedence. They were hosted files (not from a news site) so posting a link would be a really bad idea. I'm sure it'll show up on some news site eventually and then people can talk. Until then, just ignore me and carry on with the thread.

[QUOTE="Nagru"]

So...I take it no one's seen the leaked GTA V dev notes yet?

ocstew

Serious?

It's semi-boring stuff like animation times and control schemes, but it's quite real. I don't know what Rockstar's previous history with secrecy is, but it looks like they've slipped up at least this one time.

I'd rather have VALVe concentrate on new games. Besides, what you're looking for is already being made by modders; the Black Mesa project. Admittedly it's been a long time in the making, but they are nearing the end of it:

Since it has been said, we are in the later parts of development. Most of the work now is piecing together finished assets, rebuilding broken mechanics, and fixing up bugs ( Each are quite time consuming ). Some developers have extra time, while waiting on another task to be finished, so he can do his job. His extra time will either be used to work another task or fix/update stuff on a list we have of things to do but not required. The developer may work from the list because those tasks are usually more refreshing and allows the developer to have fun so he wont get burnt out.JamesKane
