Games that you felt were phenomenal. They had stories that were compelling, gameplay mechanics kept you engaged for considerable amounts of times, and games that had a unique concept to them. They might not be the most innovating game ever, but it was definitely a refreshing feel to the genre. And yet, these games have gone relatively unnoticed (by your standards).
For me, I'm having a great time with Expeditions: Conquistador. Definitely not a game for those that those that prefer concentrated gameplay over story. It's a tactical turn-based rpg game. Part of the reasons I love this game is because the story is vastly different. There are not many games I can think of that base themselves around history of Mexico. I feel that it's packed with content in the story department with adequate time given to each character to give them a sense of being a human being.
What are some games that you guys have played and feel it deserved a larger audience?
I still enjoy it. I haven't played it in over a month though. Overall, I think the game is playable and definitely can hold one's attention for quite some time before moving on.
Infestations: Survival Stories.
I thought to myself "Finally! A decent looking zombie survival MMO!"
Then I started looking at the gameplay and it looked eerily familiar to War Z. Turns it was Warz. And then I put the game into my steam cart ready to purchase, The game couldn't be as bad as all those reviews right?!?! Not 5 seconds before I was about to hit the purchase icon, a member in Teamspeak jumped into my channel and greeted. I told him what I was about to do and to the top of his lungs, he screamed for me not to purchase that game. Then he proceeded to bombard me with articles all related to the developer. I didn't think a developer could go down to the level Zynga and refused to buy.
5 seconds was literally the difference between a pile of regret.
I was walking back to my dorm after class when I saw a few religious fanatics preaching about how we are all sinners. Few minutes later, a guy dressed as the Pope walked up to them and waved his staff while yelling "You are all excommunicated!!!" and ran off
