Hey Nintendo,

How about creating a cloud service for all of the downloadable games I've bought just in case my 3DS breaks....

@Jarten I think that it has a lot to do with the current global economic environment, coupled with the fact that current consoles have enough power and capabilities to keep gamers basically satisfied. After the Xbox 1 and PS4 sell their first four million units, I think we're going to see slowdown for them too.

The Wii U will not fail. It will be the lowest selling console Nintendo has ever created perhaps, but it will not fail. Why? The Japanese market alone will support it. With titles like Dragon Quest X (out now and yes, a Wii U version) and Monster Hunter 4 HD coming this fall, it's actually a fairly formidable competitor in Japan. Long before Nintendo stops making consoles, they will stop making consoles for foreign countries.

I would bet on Gamecube games being downloadable content on Wii U. No HD remakes. You'll get to play them in 480 progressive scan. On an HDTV that does make a huge difference.

But then again, three years into the 3DS' life, still no SNES or GBA Virtual Console titles. But we always get the rerelease of Urban Champion for the NES with every console/handheld VC launch. Go Nintendo.

Good old Nintendo. Their games have always been fun. That's enough for me. Right now, I'm rocking FF Crystal Chronicles and Metroid Zero Mission like it's 2004.

Wow, I had no idea what 60% of the content in that article means. I guess Pokemon X and Y is not for beginners.

It's actually a way for Nintendo to rip off (limit the choices of) Japanese consumers. When the value of the yen is high, Nintendo loses money on overseas sales but having region lock guarantees Japanese gamers will pay in yen. But the language barrier prevents Japanese gamers from buying mass amounts of software overseas anyway, so it's unnecessary in this day and age. Sony's games are region-free, but they're no saints either. Take a look at any North American Blu-Ray movie and you'll see subtitle options for every language in the world...except Japanese. Japanese companies use region locking to protect themselves from the high price of the Japanese yen.

I haven't been interested in a new Square Enix game since Dragon Quest IX. Before that, Final Fantasy IX. This company has become so irrelavent...and looks like it will continue to do so.
