Just like how all the fan boys are on gamespot all day complaining about the Ones always connected stance when the are on a service that requires a constant Internet service to work to do all the complaining in the first place.cheesie253
Bullshit. The PS3 does not require PSN or Internet to WORK. You can buy a PS3 and play games perfectly without the need to ever connect it to the Internet. Granted you'll not have the most up-to-date firmware or game patches, but that does not PREVENT you from playing the games themselves.

Apparently Amazon already has so many pre orders that they are no longer guaranteeing a PS4 at launch if you pre order.

DaRq_MiNoS
They were like that 24 hours after first offering their pre-orders. Luckily I reserved mine just in time to guarantee a launch day unit.

Why stand in line with a bunch of strangers when you can have it delivered to your front door on launch day, pay no sales tax (depending on your state) and free S/H? :o

Amazon Prime FTW.

But you have fun standing in your line.

I see. So its probably best to wait and see what the eventual plans are rather than dropping nearly $500 on a console and games?

Duel_King_X
If you're buying a PS4 to play PS3 games you're missing the point of getting a whole new console in the first place.

And if there is an offline campaign it'll probably pale in comparison to the online since that's what they seem to be focusing on.

Can't trust them

Pikminmaniac
If you're incapable of making up your own mind and depend on complete strangers to dictate how you should feel about something, then yes, it is hard to "trust them." However, I find that it's less about trust as it is just finding a site/editor that share similar gaming tastes and preferences. You could argue that's simply looking for a confirmation bias, but really, don't we all do that naturally with the friends we choose to hang out with? People tend to gravitate to others based on similar interests.

The reason to get a PS4 at launch is to have the newest piece of tech before your friends.

As a primary method of buying, I wouldn't support digital. You're stripping away consumer rights and relinquishing control over to the developers. Hard copy PS3 games will not be supported (i.e. backwards compatible) on PS4. This fact has already been established. Nobody here yet knows the details of how the streaming Gaikai service is going to work either when it comes to older PS games. So for now I would say wait until more info is released before making your ultimate decision.

So what does this all mean for the games??? You can sit here and debate this all day, but all people care about is how this translates to better games. Will all games now be able to handle 60fps? Will 1080p become the new standard resolution? That's what people want to know.
