@Lhomity @SirApathetic005 @xsonicchaos Haha I feel like this should be a forum thread by now it's so off-topic, but I just wanna voice this out: there's a difference between a well-made opinion and a badly written one. I recall a notorious Eurogamer review on Leisure Suit Larry. Despite it being an opinion, all it did was shit on Leisure Suit Larry fans for supporting a remake through Kickstarter. There are such things as being "unfair," and that is one example. And, just by reading this Splinter Cell review, this is a "fair review." Though I think this particular user is being silly because I find all of the Gamespot staff to have well-made opinions (perhaps not agreeable all of the time but there you go), I feel like pointing out that "fair" and "opinion" are different things is an erroneous way of defending them.

@Riddick123 Put it this way: some will call her "wonderful," others will call her "magical," but Disney's always a "world" if you catch my drift.

@Sharon Put it on easy mode. Not only is there infinite lives, but Scrooge gets twice as much health. Perfect for kids, but I just don't think they'll understand anything about what the characters are saying seeing as it's referencing like a twenty-five year-old television show. In which case, just have them watch every episode of DuckTales. I mean obviously, right?

@komuchen @mikkeltiedt @kingotnw Think Tom should have stated that, but the easy mode seems too easy. While you get an infinite number of lives, you have like twice the health you would normally have. I just wish it would give you infinite lives with like three or so hearts, so you don't have to retry everything again.

Is it just as easy to turn these features back on as it apparently is to turn them off? In a way, good decisions, but in another way, I'm skeptical.

@stan_boyd @mav_destroyer Sure, the game is probably way more familiar for, and certainly backed by, the people that have already played the NES game. But you don't think there are people out there who don't know what the game is and shouldn't be bothered knowing about how the new game plays? I'm only 21; I never heard of the DuckTales video game being a classic until I learned how to use the Internet. I got a NES and the game, and tried it out for myself. Not everyone's gonna do that, and if anything, this Remastered game can appeal to those that didn't grow up in the late 80's and want a convenient way of trying it out.

So now you got an argument: does the game capture the same magic of the original one, and should be worth checking out to relive it? Some people, like Tim from GI, think so, and others, like Tom, don't.

@MegaPhilX2 From what I gather, he said the original DuckTales still holds up (according to the soapbox article he wrote directly regarding the Remastered game and this review). He says the controls in this game don't quite match up to its original predecessor. I think his main problem is that this game didn't need to be so much of a carbon-copy of the previous game, because a couple of his complaints stem from how I believe the original game played.

Personally, I liked what I heard of the music from the game, but it's a matter of taste. They still have all of the original compositions, sometimes playing in the same MIDI format, but remixed with bouts of live instrumentation, like squealing guitars and I think some occasional horn-playing. Definitely remember the cheesy guitar part playing a melody of one of the levels, though.
