@Legend_of_Link: It just seems like a condescending thing to say for a game like this that is going for such a different thing than Horizon or Zelda. And also scores on GS only go whole numbers and more about feel than an attempt at being rational and being based on a set base of factors. Sorry that the idiot word offended ya at the time, just wanted to let ya know to not take it so hard : ))) (though I can get the need for explanation)
This game's got heart, just not 50-60 dollars heart. I hope Nintendo keeps trying for games like this, I just don't know if this is gonna be successful at all given that you get nothing with this game : \\ Don't blame the hate it gets (maybe not the "not for real gamers" logic part), though I do feel there's something to it, like a WarioWare kind of thing.
@Bread_or_Decide: At the time, I think the critics just had the easiest time getting into Shadow of Mordor cuz of the Batman combat. Also everyone talks about that Nemesis system being such a game-changer, or at least talked about it at the time
@Viral-venom13: I recall Halo 2 actually being the most disappointing for this site despite getting high praise nevertheless, and at the time, God of War was indeed up there with RE4.
@ylfaer: Bruh, you don't have to be wrong or ignorant if you don't like something "critically praised." If you told me Gone Home failed in specific themes it was going for versus what you were doing, then I might appreciate what your comment is saying, but if you're just gonna say "emotive indie bullshit," then yeah, that's kind of ignorant, and in no way actually being constructive. That's all you mostly see when people are "against" something. I can see an argument for games making a poor attempt at art but it getting a pass anyways, but its detesters need to express that better than the way they're doing it.
