Heavy Rain: great graphics BUT bad voice acting, countless plotholes, kids who act five years more immature and stupid than kids their age do, the female lead has to either show skin and/or be in a rape-y situation in all of her chapters, the solution to the mystery contradicts entire chapters, and the climax is hilariously ridiculous

The Walking Dead: simple comic book graphics that are nothing to write home about BUT great voice acting, little to no plotholes, far more engaging characters, and a climax that is intense and incredibly emotional. Also, CLEMENTINE.

Yeah Cage, stop worrying about making the story look "pretty" and actually write good characters and a competent story that is complemented by voice actors who can actually emote. I don't care how realistic everyone's expression is if the story and voice acting don't make me feel like I'm looking at a developed character.

@Zombrex Indeed, if I need to take a break from gaming or watching a movie/show, then I simply turn on/off the console depending on which one I need to. It takes like a few seconds. Microsoft, you're not going to get my hyped by offering to save 30 seconds tops each days. And with my PS3 and TV on the same stand I already had full access to games, TV, and movies. PS3 plays games/BRs/Netflix and TV plays shows. Seriously, this "update on entertainment" just doesn't impress me.

"If you have an online experience where millions of people interact together, something unique happens," he said. "And we don't use that enough in gaming."

Yeah, we live in a world where no MMOs or CODs exist apparently.

And no Peter, at the end of the day the consumer is king. What makes sales sticks around and what doesn't is tossed aside either temporarily or permanently. And guess what, a lot of consumers didn't like your restrictive approach to gaming. So as a certain employee of Microsoft so ironically put: DEAL WITH IT.

Also, what the heck does restricting the ease to play games with friends I know help enhance the experience in any way?

@RetryAgain @Kamina85 @Braddick Naughty Dog already confirmed she knows Joel was lying. It was pretty obvious anyway, if the Fireflies already knew the cure wouldn't work then why change her into hospital clothes, plus the way Ellie hesitates before saying "okay" says it all.

@Braddick Except Ellie believes Joel in that version and the final shot was originally meant to be a peaceful shot indicating Joel and Ellie found peace whereas the ending we got ends with Ellie obviously troubled by Joel lying to her but deciding not to call him out on it, making it somewhat bittersweet. Also, Tommy and his people were only interested in looking out for the people under their care, they weren't trying to rebuild society like the people in the original ending were.

@Prats1993 Yeah, anyone who says North doesn't have range clearly hasn't played TLOU yet. Very different from the roles I'm used to him playing. But the whole cast was fantastic.

Okay, I do agree that there is a decent amount of sexism in the industry, but definitely not anywhere to be seen in The Last of Us. Tess was a strong character who didn't get pushed around by anyone, Ellie grows up to be highly skilled and has plenty of depth to her character, and Marlene is the leader of the whole resistance. Saying this game is sexist makes about as much sense as saying The Wire was a "White People with Problems" show.

I don't agree with this mindset at all. Yes, some mainstream titles are needed to keep profit up, but that certainly shouldn't apply for all of them. Forcing all creative artists of any medium to "edit" their creation to appeal to as wide an audience as possible is a limitation of creativity.

While I do like Nintendo (going to get a Wii U at the end of the month), I do realize not a single one of their games I can think of that I would describe as high art. Ico/SOTC, Silent Hill 1-3. Bioshock Infinite, Journey, The Last of Us, and a few others, but nothing that originated from Nintendo. I like Nintendo, I really do, but not every single one of their titles need to be popcorn mainstream titles, which while are perfectly fun to play don't generally leave an emotional impact on the player compared to titles like the ones I listed above. Nintendo, you took a gamble just by going into this industry over 2 decades ago and you've made a LOT of money from it, surely you can utilize that practically endless money you've gathered (seriously, check the data, Nintendo has TONS of money saved up) to make games that challenge us emotionally and psychologically just as much as they challenge us with gameplay. The ball's in your court, you just have to take the shot.

Gail Simone is a great writer so I'm confident she'll deliver something solid here. I'm definitely picking this up.

I'm not sure what the big deal is. So they can distract you, okay put your games. figures, posters, etc. in the entertainment room, not a room that's meant for work. I mean, is my life going to fall apart because I'm not 100% focused on a Simpsons rerun because of the Persona 4 poster to my left?

As long as one doesn't go so far as to get into financial trouble over collecting and as long as it's fairly neatly organized (AKA on shelves and such and not cluttered on the floor), then do what you want. "Hoarding" is just a cheap way to insult people who choose to live/decorate differently. I don't enter someone's home, notice the color of the paint on the walls, and decide to "diagnose" them because of that. They live their way, and I live my way.
