So the point is "Ignore your intuition built from years of playing video games and buy this game. We are unapproachable in our assessment"
Well that sentiment may work for a generation that seems to be lead around by the nose. I, on the other hand, don't need to taste a shit sandwich to know it taste like shit. (not that I think the game is shit, just a metaphor for what I consider to be not-that-great of a game)
I've been playing FPS from it's inception and don't need to (even though I have) play this game to know it's directly aimed at appeasing lower skilled gamers. I consider most gaming 'journalist' fall into this category (remember, we've seen you play) and that's why we are where we are.
The game will sell fine and people will enjoy playing it but don't for a second think that a sarcasm drenched ode to TitanFall piece will deter me or others from speaking their mind. Those that don't like parts of this game have just as much right to say "I don't like people automatically getting drops on a timer", "I don't like auto shooting guns", "I don't like people sitting invisible on just about any wall", "I don't like people getting cheep bot kills" and no, "I don't like what they consider to be a campaign". (just to name a few)
My dislike for ~parts~ of this game shouldn't effect you're enjoyment, that is unless you're trying to forget these glaring issues and just annoyed that I feel like discussing it.
I really wouldn't care too much if not for the fact that Tom has done this before. People are going to buy/not buy it no matter what is said here.... esp if Tom is the reviewer of a PS3 game.
Right now.. out of 61 reviews on meta there are only 4 sites that have given this game under 90% and GS is one of them. The other 3 I havnt even herd of before.
At what point would the reviewer or the site that pays him admit he may have underrated the game a bit?
