DC for me all the way. Loved the Cube, but DC was better. but for me the reason WAS the N64. Simply put, the N64 was horrid, and completely soured me on Nintendo.
the N64 had a terrible library for me, with no rpgs, no shmups, and no horror/mature type titles. when the NGC launched, I honestly expected it to be much the same as the N64, so I didn't buy one (got one after the fact)
Basically, had the N64 not been so rubbish, I would have stayed on board with Nintendo, but by the time the PS2/NGC/Xbox gen came around, the previous gen had converted me away from Ninty

I'd have to agree with you. I really lost interest with Nintendo with the N64. Sony was just rocking the world the last two generations I just really had no reason to get a gamecube.
You guys are **** the n64 was so much better than the psone Yup, and so was the Saturn. I hated the PSOne, and the PS2, and the PSP, and the PS3. Vastly overrated games and systems.
Is it ok to keep the 720 alive for a year, and then throw out a new console?

It's only $299 which is simply too low for a new console. Microsoft is probably planning to support it for 12 months before bringing out a new console.
How is that too low for a new console? PS2 and Xbox launched at 299 last gen. 360 had a 299 model availiable at launch as well. Wii was at 199 at launch. Or should every system launch at "$599 US dollars!" (we all saw how well that worked out). I guess that would be the only way Sony could compete. As for MS only supporting the system for a year, how the hell did you pull that out of you're ass? Literally the dumbest thing I have heard all day. Granted the day is still young, but I don't think there will be competition for how dumb that was.
They're assuming it's real because MS had it taken down. Could be real then, who knows.

So apparently it was a copyrighted work by MS. Therefore they requested it be taken down. Seems like it is legit. I wonder how much has changed though in their planning and design for the 720 since 2010 when the doc was released though. Unauthorized activities related to copyrighted work. Ie the Xbox 360 brand. Ie publishing a bunch of fake business plans about their property. That's why they've had it taken down. You'd have to be ridiculously dumb to think that document is real. Ok, that's understandable, but why haven't they taken down other "insider rumors" and "insider leaks"? I've seen numerous sites report about rumors and so called leaks about the next gen system from MS, but yet no legal action to have them removed has been taken down. It could be fake, it could be real. Only time will tell either way. I just found this interesting and figured I would share it. Again, real or fake, the doc was from 2010, so much has probably changed since then in their plans and design for the system.

New games are higher than $50 already. The $99.99 are place fillers. Games will however keep going up in price, we are still no where near how much there were on the NES. This.
