They wanted it to keep going, it's "It's only been 4 years since the Xbox and gamecube released", "PS2 has only been around for 5 years", "they still have plenty of life left in them" etc... than they would go on to list games that were releasing at the time and how last gen graphics were just fine. Now it's been 7 years sine the 360 released and some still want this gen to continue, it happens every gen. I don't think there will be that much of a jump next gen. It seems like we have reached a barrier. While I'm sure graphics can always be improved, how much further is the question. I don't think it will be a lot. Were going to be paying for things like all games finally running in 1080p at 60 fps. The areas I think could be most improved are things like physics and AI. Which seem to take a backseat everytime to graphics. I don't see a need for a next gen. Had the jump from last gen been an insignificant improvement, I would have agreed that last gen should not have ended, but it was a huge jump (Wii excluded). I don't think next gen consoles will do much more than what they do now and the graphics are looking amazing as is.
