Interesting.

I wonder if I'll also find PT repetitive. Guess we'll all find out some time this weekend (because you know I'll be ranting about it ASAP).

Unless I choose not to play right away. Which is totally viable because I don't care about gaming these days. If I bought PT it's because I wanted to have the trio of Rainfall games. In fact, this evening I'll be stepping out to sell 22 games from my collection.

I know what you mean; I wanted to complete the set as it were. I have left Xenoblade until last, as supposedly that is the best one. I'll probably try and finish either PT or TLS before though; after all, I have spent cash on them both, it would seem a waste. I hate leaving things unfinished >.>

[QUOTE="DarthJohnova"]

So I went back to playing on my Wii this afternoon...

Pandora's Tower is still a terrible game and any redeeming features I once found in The Last Story have now dissipated; I have no patience left with either of them. :|

Xenoblade better be good, or else my Wii purchase will have been in vain.

I am curious, really.

Detail for me what it is about both games you dislike.

My copy of Pandora's Tower arrives by Friday now, if Amazon is to be believed.

To be honest, I don't feel I have the patience with them. I should add that 'Terrible' is more a personal frustration that something I was looking forward to wasn't how I expected it to be, as such.

Right, anyway Pandora's Tower:

The voice acting is IMO, appalling. That's not a major issue, it can be muted. One problem I had is that the story doesn't really pull it along very well, not too dissimilar to Resonance of Fate, though at least PT sets the scene and outlines what exactly the goal is. The gameplay is innovative, I like how they employ the 'chain' as both a weapon and platforming tool. But, to say I am only 4 or 5 towers in, I feel bored. The environments feel kind of dull and the gameplay does get repetitive. At times it makes me cringe, both from being revolted and from the VA.

I must say, I did enjoy the bosses, but the repetitive nature of getting to them grinded on me.

The Last Story;

I wrote a blog on how much I loved it a while back, and the points of which I praised it still stand. It's a nice throwback to old JRPG tales, the characters are relatively decent e.t.c. But it looks horrible and it plays in a really clunky way; I almost wish they had stuck with the tried and tested JRPG turn-based battle system. It was interesting at times, but just plain annoying at others. Also, please stop talking Zael D=

I am probably more likely to persevere with TLS, as I did enjoy it last time I played it, I may just be in a bad mood. It certainly does require some patience though, they both do. It probably doesn't help that I have other games knocking about that I would much prefer to play than trying to like these.

I really think people are panicking over nothing. Come E3 people will be uptaking en masse. Whether it's handhelds or consoles, all have struggled from the beginning for the past couple of years.

I've owned practically every major platform at or around it's launch for the past 15 years, and I can say with great authority that the Wii U is having horribly launch issues that compare disfavorably to every console I've owned since the Dreamcast. So it's not just growing pains... there's a deeper problem haunting Nintendo currently.

I suppose you've got a more experienced insight then to be fair. In my opinion, I just think they showed too many games that weren't ready for launch, and still aren't ready. When those games come, the sales will come. Plus, I think they'll announce even more at E3.

It's a great system, people say it lacks games but it has a good selection so far:

But from what it has (uncharted, Gravity Rush, Persona 4 Golden, Unit 13, Mortal Kombat, PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale, Assassins Creed 3 Liberation, Guacamelee, dead or alive 5 plus, Zero Escape, Sound Shape, Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, Need For Speed Most Wanted, Ninja Gaiden Sigma plus 1 and 2, Little Big Planet vita, and Rayman Origins.

Upcoming games:

Soul Sacrafice, Killzone Mercenaries, Muramasa Rebirth, Batman: Arkham Origins, Dragon's Crown, Teraway.

We still haven't had E3 either.  So take your pick. :P

I genuinely don't understand the 'Vita has no games' argument. There are more you haven't mentioned too. Bizarre.
