[QUOTE="DarthJohnova"]So I went back to playing on my Wii this afternoon...
Pandora's Tower is still a terrible game and any redeeming features I once found in The Last Story have now dissipated; I have no patience left with either of them. :|
Xenoblade better be good, or else my Wii purchase will have been in vain. Â

I am curious, really.
Detail for me what it is about both games you dislike.
My copy of Pandora's Tower arrives by Friday now, if Amazon is to be believed.Â
To be honest, I don't feel I have the patience with them. I should add that 'Terrible' is more a personal frustration that something I was looking forward to wasn't how I expected it to be, as such.
Right, anyway Pandora's Tower:
The voice acting is IMO, appalling. That's not a major issue, it can be muted. One problem I had is that the story doesn't really pull it along very well, not too dissimilar to Resonance of Fate, though at least PT sets the scene and outlines what exactly the goal is. The gameplay is innovative, I like how they employ the 'chain' as both a weapon and platforming tool. But, to say I am only 4 or 5 towers in, I feel bored. The environments feel kind of dull and the gameplay does get repetitive. At times it makes me cringe, both from being revolted and from the VA.
I must say, I did enjoy the bosses, but the repetitive nature of getting to them grinded on me.

The Last Story;
I wrote a blog on how much I loved it a while back, and the points of which I praised it still stand. It's a nice throwback to old JRPG tales, the characters are relatively decent e.t.c. But it looks horrible and it plays in a really clunky way; I almost wish they had stuck with the tried and tested JRPG turn-based battle system. It was interesting at times, but just plain annoying at others. Also, please stop talking Zael D=Â
I am probably more likely to persevere with TLS, as I did enjoy it last time I played it, I may just be in a bad mood. It certainly does require some patience though, they both do. It probably doesn't help that I have other games knocking about that I would much prefer to play than trying to like these.
