I'm hoping they revamp the series so that the AI is smarter, and there is far more strategy involved with a focus on Sun Tzu's "Art of War", especially on deception. Being able to control your own army (or 'group' of soldiers that increases as your rank increases), split them up/etc would be nice so you can make some of your own tactics instead of following the pre-appointed triggers of the game. Perhaps having a 'Mode' away from campaign that allows you to play the campaign maps but with your own tactics instead of pre-appointed triggers would be nice.
Yea. I want control of own section of the army of the kingdom you serve; of course they have their own AI so if you don't have an order for them they'll choose the next best option for them based on their rank or morale. It would be like - whilst you are fighting, you can pull up a menu and order your men to go somewhere/attack/defend/retreat/etc then you can exit the menu and continue fighting in first-person/third-person.
My great grandchildren and those after will add to my account; holding the Guiness World Record for highest amount of achievements/trophies for all time. :O Generations of little me's will live off our record!
All those Sales just suck me in. I am embarassed to say that I have 52 PS2 games that I have yet to even touch, and another 18 that I haven't finished yet. On the PC side I have 30 games I have yet to start and 26 games I have yet to finish.
Just those sales, and worrying about games going out of print and out of stock; especially PS2 games. These days it is rare to find a good game I haven't got already in stores; most of them are just old trade bait and numerous copies of sports games.
And you know. When games like Crysis are just $20 (AUD) I just can't pass that up.
If you want to play co-op I think it would be a good idea to wait it out a bit because not everyone has the DLC and unless I am mistaken you can't play games hosted by those who have expansions that you don't have; so if you host a game with all 3 DLC and you are still in your first playthrough and at, like, lvl 20...then you'll probably not meet a lot of people your level who have all 3 DLC installed.
My advice would be to do your first playthrough without the DLCs, then install the DLC for your second playthrough.
More excited about Diablo III, mainly because I rarely go multiplayer other than in MMORPGs/ORPGs. Still looking forward to SC2 though, will definitely get it for the single player campaigns.
I am definitely an impulse buyer. If it is cheap and the reviews are good I'll buy it - especially PS2 games cause I worry that someone else will buy it...then I'll have to buy it via eBay for 400% the price.
However that said I usually stick with pre-owned or good sales.
I don't like the fact that if Steam dies, all your Steam games are gone with it (or at least that is what I have come to assume). However, I like that it is legally CD/DVD-free. The only Steam games I have are Portal, MW2 and Plants vs Zombies.
I still prefer retail due to box/manual/physical DVD but I dislike having to have the DVD whirring around in my drive just to make sure I have it in there.
The only Digital distribution I am comfortable with is GOG.com, because they are all DRM-free.
