Hey guys, just wondering; are there any online lists of Games which can officially play without a CD (including ones with official No CD patches)?
I find it annoying that my drive is whirring away with a game disc inside even though the only thing the game is doing is checking that I have the disc inside (for which for some reason it has to constantly check; so annoying).
I prefer my drive to be silent.

Unfortunately besides Steam games, DRM-free games and Blizzard games (once you download their official No CD patch) I don't know of any other games with said patches or which never required the CD to be in the drive in any case.

I prefer not to 'crack' my games cause apparently it is illegal (or is it?).

So in short; anyone know of any online lists of no-cd games?

I used to; before 2001 when I started playing Ragnarok Online. So that was....when I was 12 or so.
I quit a bit before then I think; or at least I know I left well before Runescape 2 came out (the '3D' version). I tried getting back into it but the 3D put me off a lot. I enjoyed the many skills, abilities/etc you could do, and the quests were sort of interesting. Unfortunately the combat system was appalling. Still, I wish more MMORPGs had a greater variety of non-combat skills (chopping trees to get wood, to light a fire, to cook food you caught/collected via fishing/etc so as to rejuvenate hp). That would be nice.

No I would not. It would be so different that I would probably just lose my mind, and become a total social outcast. Or I'll be seen as some 'cave-man' and end up being exhibited to the whole world with cameras (or whatever they use in that time period) watching my every move.

And if it was a good experience? Then, when I head back to the present time I would be filled with frustrations at the fact that I will never be able to experience what I experienced in my lifetime. Or, I'll start feeling obliged to create the future, today and end up failing hard.

I don't really have one, or at least I can't think of one off the top of my head. It used to be eggplant, or at least the ones my grandmother used to cook. However recently (in the past year) my mother was introduced to an eggplant recipe from a friend and it is ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! Can't have enough of it. Love it mixed with rice. :D

I try to sleep 7-8hrs. Apparently that's a good bracket to keeping healthy.

To me the purpose of "God" is to give people a sense of relief that there is an after-life beyond our own limited, mortal lives. This will hopefully make people less depressed and fearful about their impending and inevitable death.
To me religion is all about keeping society calm; and plays a part in making people happier.

Of course the opposite effect can occur, inevitably.

If I was given the choice between the same game, one with achievements and one without? I would go with the one with achievements.
I like the idea of collecting achievements. Makes me that much more happy, which is never a bad thing. Competing with friends on who can get that hard-to-get achievement also brings back good times.

Plus it gives me an incentive to milk out the game for all its worth, and explore the game in a greater depth than I would have if there were no achievements.

For instance in certain FPS, there might be an achievement (such as in MW2) for not killing/alerting anyone during a mission. Without that achievement I would just go head-long shooting everything in my way. But with it, it adds a new 'way' of playing a mission.

If I was forced to choose between the two, I would have to go for RPG simply because I have played more, and enjoy them immensely. I do enjoy FPS, but haven't had enough experience with the genre to say I would prefer it over RPGs.

Living the life of a Cave Man who becomes a great man would be nice. An RPG where you make stone tools/etc, discover fire, kill giant kangaroos/etc. :O

Yea, I got this, donated USD10.
Also read about the piracy. Disgusting; they could have paid $0.01, and they have the nerve to use up their bandwidth too. Bandwidth don't come cheap!
