GRID i've always liked the simulation oriented racers more and codemasters have always delivered quality products.

Im split on this... one part of me wants them to stay the hell away from BG1 and 2 because i just know that it will turn out to be a disappointment and ruin fond childhood memories while the other half of me wants to see the Docks District in 1080p and with 3d graphics. I know that it is extremely unlikely but imagine if they did NOTHING BUT update the visuals and the sound, more voice acting etc. No changes to the script, no changes to the story or any of the side quests, just modernize it. I know, "not gonna happen", but hope dies last.

edit: +1 to the obsidian thing. NWN2 was much better than 1 (especially Mask of the betrayer) and Kotor 2 had serious potential if it wasn't so rushed during development.

It's actually a really good game. A solid story, interesting companions. Even a pretty good combat system where you have to actually pause and think about strategy during battles. Aside from the level scaled encounters, i had almost no complaints with the game.

Just because it is new doesnt make it the top of the line. A integrated 4200 is not a dedicated GPU, it can't process 3d visuals very well. It's mainly for a basic web browsing PC or simple media like videos or movies.

+1 TS, return it if you still can (I assume its an off the shelf prebuilt from best buy or something), then go to the gamespot computer hardware forums and get the people there to help you build a PC which will be 10x better and still be about the same price.

I'd also say that its a little too early to criticize R over this. It hasn't been that long since that teaser trailer. Usually info about big games like this surfaces at game conventions like E3 or Pax or something.

@colibriosis EA owns the exclusive right to use Porsche cars in games, FYI. Anyways, At launch: Re-used cars from GT4 bugged me quite a bit - blatant copy-pasta of that list into GT5 so that they could advertise the game as having 'Over 1000 Cars!!!" Also the brain dead AI that would just drive in a line bumper to bumper like a train of some sort - an AI so bad that they altogether removed qualifiers for races because the game was easy enough starting in last position or in the middle of the pack and would just become stupidly easy if you could start in first place. And the number of skylines was annoying. Even in premium there was like 10, and the standard had another 20 or so. I understand that, overall, the game is a tribute to Japanese automotive history but they left out many other, what i would call important, *** cars like the Supra and the mitsubishi eclipse to name only 2 from the Premium lineup. I know PD has a really close relationship to Nissan and all that, but still. Other than that, it was still really fun, and the many patches they released really smoothed out many rough edges. I guess sony could have given them more time and not rushed release but if they didn't pressure them, we may still be waiting for release cause Kaz is OCD like that.

it may very well be that the game is too old. You could always try and run the install in WinXP compatibility setting. Go into the CD, find the install.exe file (it may be AoEInstall.exe or something) -> right click-> Properties -> Compatibility tab - > run in Windows XP Service Pack 2 for example.
