you folks aren't getting it, the mere fact that there's a common thought process PSP > Wii graphics is appalling.

I love the Wii, but if I were Nintendo I'd have higher quality control that this **** But then again if I were Nintendo I'd actually care about the fans and release Mii tools and internet libraries to 3rd parties.

Nintendo really needs to do something about this quick before we starting seeing threads of PSP > Wii.

I'm in the same boat as many, after the "novelty" wears off Wii Sports, and wilight Princess is done.  There's nothing that matches up to Gears of War or GRAW2, or even God of War II. Where the hell is Metroid?

[QUOTE="Genexi2"]Easier to port PS2 since it uses simpler graphics, where-as most Xbox titles incorporate one means or another of effects that push the systems' pixel shaders (especially in the Splinter Cell series as you used as an example), and the Wii doesn't exactly boast something that can handle that to the same extent with the current development code libraries, or at least we assume since Nintendo is pretty anal about releasing the actual specs/capabilities of their hardware.

Yeah, XBOX does a few things that Wii can't soposly do, just like you mentioned. Like how XBOX also upscales some games to 720P and 1080i, but Wii can't because Nintendo cheeped out on added a few extra MegaBytes of VRAM....

Upscaling isn't taking place, those games are being rendered at 720p, not merely scaled to 720p.  the Xbox GPU > Hollywood, despite LESS memory.  as i stated before, the Wii cannot do Xbox graphics.  Many on here would argue, but just look at the games.  I rest my case.

[QUOTE="Bahn_Yuki"]Wow even after all these months people still can't accept the Wii for what it is. Truly amazing, I remember all the posts of people calling me a basher, a hater, and downright Satan. Oh th death threats I've recieved. But where are the people now? Aren't you happy with your PS2 ports? Aren't you happy with your last gen graphics?

You should know better by now. It's months AFTER launch. The Wii is "two Gamecubes, duct taped together"..Get over it.
decepticondevil

If you hate it so much then why do you have one? Seriously, you could probably turn a bit of a profit on ebay if you sold it. I'm not flaming... I just don't understand why someone would want something they hate sitting around the house when they could probably get $350+ out of it (assuming you have a couple games to go with it and stuff). Or do you think that having one is a free ticket to complain about it, so you want to keep it to have something to cry about?

I like the Wii, I just find Nintendo management and business practices foolhearty.  The system itself is fine(except that's it has a $150 markup).

It's quite simple, the Wii cannot do Xbox graphics.

The is based around 2001 tech, but with some nifty things from today.  Bluetooth, USB 2.0, Wi-Fi, SD card support, built in flash memory, and of course the Wiimote are today's technology wrapped around a GC in a new box.  The Wii isn't cheap per se, the Xbox 360 core is only $50 more and far far far more powerful. But it's also about 3 times the Wii's size and very very loud.  Let's not forget your electrical bill skyrocketing each time you play 360(or PS3).

Cheap isn't the word I'd use to describe Wii, personally a $99 or $149 price would be more fair, but Nintendo is still selling boatloads of Wiis, so it really doesn't matter what I think, I bought 2 Wiis at launch myself anyhow.

I have the money... now is the system worth it? and why???

(already have ps3 and 360)

BPfail
No, the Wii is not worth $249. But I don't feel the the PS3 is worth $599(I understand Blu-Ray is there, but unless you have 1080p, which I do, it's pointless). So it goes without saying. The Wii is probably worth $99, while the PS3 is $299 without Blu-Ray.

Oh 360? that's a strange one, the console itself warrants the $399 tag if you get the premium system, but all the things aside like peripherals are way too much(though I know of a place where wireless controllers are a mere $30).

BTW no next-gen title is worth $60 either.
