A flashy game but sorelacking in substance.
After reading the reviews, I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt and bought it with my hard-earned cash. Wow, did I regret it. After being a faithful gamer of RT1/2/3, this is easily the most disappointing versi... Read Full Review

A fun game for fans of Sid Meier.
Railroads was very fun and creative but one might say that the game was not stoked with enough coal to give me the steam to play it over and over again. I've always found trains to be fascinating and I enjoy greatly the ... Read Full Review

Simply Entertaining
While those looking to brush up on the microeconomics of supply and demand may find Railroads! disappointing, no game is a proper vehicle for a thorough treatment of Adam Smith. The simplified economics presented in ... Read Full Review

Nice graphics, varietyless gameplay.
I must admit I was expecting something based on transport tycoon, in fact, I pray every night for a remake, either God is not hearing me or they don't listen to God. The bad: Small maps, few industries, low amount of ... Read Full Review

Despite was overall disappointing (compared with the rest of the series), something can be still saved.
After playing Railroad Tycoon, Railroad Tycoon 2 and Railroad Tycoon 3 I found myself amazed with the idea of a new chapter in this Railroads' series, thinking all the new improvements it could have. In fact, I was not ... Read Full Review

Too many ctd's and freezes keeps me from really rating this game much higher than a 7. Perhaps another patch will fix this for my dual core system. Maybe next time a little more time will be spent testing before releasin... Read Full Review

This game is pretty addictive and visual....
This wasn't the Railroad Tycoon 4 everyone was expecting, but its a good remake and it stalls enough time to wait for RT4. This game is pure fun, and can keep you hooked for hours, if your into tycoon and civ games. It ... Read Full Review

Entertaining game with enough substance to keep you coming back for more.
Many of the reviews here are spot-on. RR has very good graphics for this type of game and they are out of scale in a positive way, so your railroads and trains are larger than the cities would otherwise suggest. The ci... Read Full Review

If you own Railroads Tycoon 3... Don't bother with this one
I just played a bit of the demo. Sid Meier's Railroads offers small changes and differences from Railroad Tycoon 3. There seems to be more industry animations. (example: log camp is shown cutting down a tree, the log rol... Read Full Review

For those who want to have fun with railroads....
one of the main reasons why Sid Meier's "RAILROADS" (SMRR) is so appealing is because of the very basic, and not so basic game play that the game involves. It is very easy to get the basics of the game by just... Read Full Review
