More or less selling at cost then factor in all the money people are spending on accessories and items on Live? Not to mention the Xbox 360 being sold now is "incredibly profitable".

Fair enough, it's pretty much impossible to guess how many PS4s Sony has moved in an entire month, for all we know, either could be leading by up to 500k units.

How is anything "pretty obvious" when you don't have anything official from Sony yet? We haven't been given any sales numbers since BOTH companies announced selling 2 million in 18 days.

The point in all this is that the PS4 and Xbox One are selling ridiculously fast. Probably nearing 7+ million sold combined is ludicrous for a month and a half on sale.

Its well known that PS 4's are always sold out while xbones are collecting dust on store shelves. Xbones have already dropped in price: $470 brand new on amazon.

Launch sales mean little. Let's see where they're at after both have been easily available for a few months.

thats the thing that cows are trying to glaze over right now...Xbox One doing this in only 13 countries. less than half the territories the PS4 is selling in. if the XB1 is selling like this in a small number of regions then it's selling at an amazing rate. once the other territories get involved it could be an avalanche hitting Sony. Sony only selling around 3 million in double the territory...looks bad. they needed to steal some of the market share back from Microsoft...not tie them.

a low supply of consoles means nothing. they needed more people with the system so more people are getting their friends to chip in and buy onr and a snowball effect forms...not a toss up like Microsoft has them in. they needed the ps2 era like they said. they just couldnt achieve it. its a stalemate and the competition hasnt even released worldwide yet while also having better supplies because of better management of stock. my opinion, they should not have done the worldwide thing and released in limited areas like MS. it'd condense their sales and give them breathing room to successfully release in other regions with no major shortages. supply demand...right now they're trying to sell here, there, all over the place. while MS has its 13 they're churning out systems too at a decent rate...they're supplying their demand. Sony tried to be flashy and couldnt back it up and let their competition gain ground.

besides, Sony said its goal for 2013 was to hit the 3 million sold mark. so its fair to believe they had at least 3 million units to sell. this announcement from MS makes the limited supply BS excuse irrelevant. they achieved Sony's goal in less territory and time.

I'm 100 percent certain that Sony has sold more PS4s to consumers, but still surprised by the Xbox One numbers. Guess I have to stop calling it Xflop....for now.

PS4 has much better software sales so yeah combine that with PS Plus and Sony is seeing more revenue than Microsoft on the consoles so far.

Shadow Fall is best selling exclusive by far and PS4 has the best selling version of every multiplat except Just Dance. Every chart since release shows that.

Nice spin. PS4 is in more demand and that is a fact. Xbox is selling well, but it is not selling out. PS4 is the more popular product.

i already answered this in my post to @R3FURBISHED about Sony's supply issues. i mean, its just my opinion...but MS selling 3 million as well pretty much negates Sony's and achievement of 3 million as well(maybe). it wasnt their plan to stay even...it was to dominate. they NEED to be in complete control here in this gen. or they're going to have problems. financially.

Lemmings should just be happy that the new Xbox is selling well right now. Beating the PS4 is unrealistic for a lot of reasons.

I expect the PS4 to be ahead, but these are some solid figures.

PS4 has sold more units while also being supply constrained unless you taking the stance the Xbox has sold more worldwide? That is highly unlikely....

It's entertaining to watch lems delude themselves into thinking Xbone has any type of sales advantage over the PS4. $100 more the competition, inferior hardware, games that aren't worth jack, inferior UI.. Do you really think the gaming populous is that stupid?

The fact of the matter is that until Sony says "We have sold X number of PS4s we don't know" all you have are guesses (granted it is a good guess that the PS4 has sold more than the Xbox One)

Where has ever been said that Sony needed to completely dominate? Also you making huge assumptions from 5 to 6 weeks of sales. PS4 will the generation and the only question is by how much. I wonder if your tune will change if comes out that PS4 has sold 3.5 to 4 million which is what I'm expecting.

THIS IS BY NO MEANS SCIENTIFIC!!! But PS4 versions of multiplats like COD, BF4, etc have more people online than the xbox one counterpart right? So maybe that could be a small non-scientific indicator that the PS4 isn't far off or far ahead of the 3 million

Anyone who thought either system wasn't going to sell is an idiot. I'm sure PS4 is ahead but this is great news for the Xbox One.

I expect the PS4 to sell more but the fact of the matter is the Xbox One is more expensive and yet its selling very well.

It still has a price drop in its pocket if it needs it to stay in close with the PS4, something the PS4 simply hasn't got due to its financial situation.

also its funny how now its too late for Microsoft with them maybe being around 500,000 behind the ps4(maybe) when the ps3 was 7 million behind. the ps3 almost caught up to the XB360 (after 8 years).

Anybody in the real world that actually thinks the PS4 is not the hottest next gen console right now, is out to lunch or needs a brain scan.

I can walk into any store right now and purchase an XONE, meanwhile people are still lining up early at ungodly hours outside of stores hoping a few PS4s come in, and when they do, they are gone in a matter of minutes.

lol oh you internet folks. 3 million sold to RETAILERS but when you actually leave your homes and go to the store u can find xbox ones on the shelves while PS4 are completely sold out. I go into ebgames and I hear ppl coming in and asking if there are any ps4s and when they can expect them. No one is asking about the xbone. I can go into my local best buy and buy a xbone. But im not because im not a idiot. I will wait for the better product.
