Overwatch Getting Rave Reviews

Doom is SP with terrible MP. Overwatch is MP with no SP.

To me, including something for its own sake and have it be not good is much worse than not including it at all.

The exchange you refer to that I had with another user was entirely resolved within the thread that it took place in. Bringing it up here is pointless and off topic.

Also, reviews aren't gospel- they're useful tools for figuring out what is and is not worth your time. That is all I will say on this topic- anything else is off topic. You're free to discuss the futility of reviews with respect to Overwatch, which is the subject of this thread, all you want though.

This was barely on my radar, and I can't say the favorable reviews were unexpected as it's Blizzard, but still I'll need to watch some reviews later to see what it's all about.

Rofl. Destiny is like 1/1000th as good as OW, finalstar is insane.

The thing is with the cast of colorful characters its kinda begging for a SP. Its odd to try to build this lore with cg cutscenes online when none of it is really shown within the game itself besides maybe some few quick lines a character might say. Its makes the lore building feel pointless in the end.

really? I mean it looks fun - I'm sure I'd enjoy it. But 2nd highest rate game of all time... that seems surprising. I feel like there have been a lot of seriously amazing games in the history of time that this is bumping

I guess that's what the story-trailers are for. Team Fortress 2 didn't have a SP, but they sure made some awesome movies with the characters.

@charizard1605: I wasn't trying to go off topic but my first reply was on topic, and then you asked me a question and I answered it. But anyway my first reply was implying to the Metacritic scores, there's only 5 so far. It will definitely end up around high 80s to low 90s.

Why would cow be salty about another high rated game also available on PS4? Seriously do you guys even know how desperate and dumb you sound with posts like this? It's not even logical.

The game has optimal performance and resolution on PS4 with 1080p and 60fps. Not seeing what salt a PS4 fan would have. Maybe I need your fanboy goggles to see it?

It seems more like you're still salty that UC4 is the highest rated exclusive this year and only on PS4 while you're just hiding behind a multiplat that just adds to PS4's already great looking line up.

So what are you a xbox or a beggar race or that popular hybrid version? Either way it's not sony fans who need to feel salty about high rated AAA games since both UC4 and Overwatch are available on PS4. Can't say the same for whatever other system you are trying to pitch an argument from.

Anyway multiplayer only aren't my thing but congrats on another high rated excellent title to come out of the blue so early in the year.

Damn 2016 is really turning out to be one of the best years in gaming, we still have have the whole second half of the year and a mega ton of AAA level games to be released before the year is finished

@charizard1605: Yeah you're probably right, especially since IGN gave it an early score of a 9.4. I was thinking the lack of content would hurt the scores but it's looking like it won't. Gamespot's early review sounded highly positive as well.

@primorandomguy: I'm not sure Overwatch has a lack of content lol. It lacks a single player mode, sure, but it seems to be pretty full of things to do inasmuch as it is asssssed as a multiplayer game. A lack of content would be something like SFV, which this is definitely not.

@charizard1605: Really? a lot of people felt it was overpriced because there was so little multiplayer modes and maps. I don't own the game so I can't speak from personal experience but you can see user scores and the 5th pc review that gave it an 80 to see what people are talking about when it comes to the lack of content.

@primorandomguy: Huh. Takes all kinds I suppose. I don't think there's a shortage of content per se, and given that this is a Blizzard game, it's long term viability (which is usually what you consider when you discuss content in the package) wasn't ever really much of a concern lol.

Game is addicting. First time I called off sick from work to play a game in a long ass time.

Don't know why you guys are acting like this is new, xbox fans and hermits have been rubbing sholders in system wars ever since the xbone 2013 reveal.

The reality is probably closer to possibility that the "hermits" we see who so rabidly defend xbox and bash PS4 are actually just disgruntled xbox fanboys who haven't let go of their insane bias for MS and hatred of Sony fans.

There are very few "Hermits" who would bash PS4 and praise xbox one in any discussion.

It's simple, Overwatch is a PC developed and intended game that later got announced to be going to consoles as well... It's not even a point of argument, it's a PC game that got further approval.

Beta was meh to me. If it had a single player or co-op mode I probably would still get it but mp only games need to have a lot more content than this for me to consider it.

He called me a lemming in another thread even though I regularly Bash Halo 5 and say XBO is dead if that new Dragon Game flops.....

PS4 has the best version of this game.

The MP of Doom isn't made by iD though. Doom was still worth it even if MP didn't exist. I think Bethesda forced some MP to be included.

It didn't just get announced for consoles after PC, it got announced for consoles a year after it was announced for PC...

It's a PC game that's getting code ported over to the twins, obviously there was originally no intent to release it on consoles but something changed internally.

Don't buy Overwatch on a console please do yourself grab a old 90's PC play it on that.

Don't play on a trash console its gonna kill the game its gonna dmg the whole brand.

Not just that, it's going to sell great on console no doubt but the game will be dead inside of 6 months, while on PC it will thrive for years and years to come.

Console communities are complete shit, they just abandon games every time something else shiny comes out...
