NPD January results (#'sTBA, PS41 ,XO2, Wii U 65k)

It was cheaper for 18 days,January 1,2 and 3,from 4 to 15 it was $399 then from 16 to 31 $349,the xbox one was selling with 2 games at $399 it should sell better let alone $50 less for 18 days,in fact most still on amazon the PS4 is on top it has been almost all month long regarding of bee $49 and some times $54 cheaper saturation just gave a big kick to the xbox one..

Fable is (heavily rumored) to compete with Blood borne along with Screamride.,. The order is being countered by Evolve like it or not. There are unannounced games as well, however, you are right in that they should fix the distances their games release on the Xbox one. At the same time, The Xbox One during the PS4 10 month streak was only being outsold an average of 90k. It now has a free games a lower price point, and doesn;t have Kinect. All the super big games from Sony release in the same time frame as MS's in 2015 outside boths unannounced games.

I don't think that will really be an issue until 2016.

@TigerSuperman: Evolve won't push consoles solely for one side. Nor does it seem like it will set the world on fire with it's sales (despite being a very fun game).

I doubt Fable will counter Bloodborne...it releases in March and Fable still hasn't a solid date. Doesn't seem likely. Plus it's probably best for Fable to release in the Summer when there are less big multiplatforms+exclusives (the last 2 games kinda left a bad taste in the mouth of fans it seems).

90k x 10 = 900k. That's almost a million. We know the XB1 can't make up for that kind of difference in Nov+Dec, the PS4 would have to sell amazingly bad for that in those two months.

Evolve also doesn't counter The Order. Evolve is on PS4 too. There are sources that are saying The Order has more preorders than Evolve on PS4 + Xbone combined did.

It's really not looking like the PS4 will lose these upcoming months.

It's a textbook case of having the door shut on your faces. The game lineup for a console not always being front loaded for the holiday season makes it a sustainable platform. There's absolutely no way that a holiday fire sale will counter-balance a game machine that shows consistency.

"Two weeks" doesn't mean anything considering games push sales more than anything.

Steam offers more variety because PC has no "generations" and not to mention the flood of ultra shitty indie games but when it comes to price? Nope. Game per game Steam prices are either higher or the same as PSN's and XBL's.

Steam might put some bundles sometimes but it's always just a bunch of old games that you might or not want to play. That's when the hoarding happens. PC gamers buy a bunch of old games and then end up playing some crappy niche simulator for months because in reality, that's what they do. The "immense" variety that PC offers are a bunch of games that hardly anybody wants to play. A spreadsheet of a gazillion of games rated above 7/10 that is far beyond consoles but again, the games, the actual games, hardly anybody wants to play them.

With 2015 looking to be playstations year, Microsoft need a miracle at this point.

Many points that are helping PS4, It has more software believe it or not (at least counting the indies), 1080p resolution, smaller while being more powerful than X1, their fanboy do all the marketing for Sony etc

This was my thoughts exactly. I also think, based on what i have seen from my kids friends and my friend's children, that in at least NA, Xbox is still popular with them, as that is what they had last gen due to 360 popularity. Also Cod, gta and madden are usually their most played games (even thought they are kids...go figure). They don't know any better and hence ask for it for x-mas. The priced dropped for x-mas and bam all those kids getting consoles. Typically parents aren't buying consoles for kids after the holidays (at least not in mass). Meanwhile older gamers who know history, know 3 generations of greatness happened with Sony consoles and the better performing, more new exclusive offering console will of course get the sales now (even with the competition being $50 cheaper).

Its no surprise when you compare the most bought games on PS4 are stuff like Dying light and Far Cry 4, not COD and Madden. Xbox = the mcdonalds of consoles. PS4 = a steakhouse ... and PC = that expensive restaurant that only the elite can afford to go to (or know about). :P

Yeah we buy good games like Dying light and Far Cry 4... Most ps4 gamers who like cod, madden and such already bought that stuff on release, months ago. We like new ips, and games with substance, rpgs.. and are not as easily charmed by multiplayer mostly focused titles.
