Why wait the 5-10 or more minutes for it to install? Why fill up the hard drive? How do you think 20, 40, 60 and 80GB owners feel when they play 30 or 40 PS3 games over the years, and then they have to delete data in order to play more games?

I honestly don't know single person that would be stupid enough to fill up their harddrive with 60GB of game data then complain about not having any games to play. Besides that, my 360 sounds like a jet engine when I don't have games installed.

It will be outdated in 2020 yes, if we are talking the read speed Im sure updated versions of the format will not have that issue for next gen systems.

But you hate swapping disks, don't you have to swap disks to play different games instead of DD where theres no need? I mean say you play 3 different games in a week thats way worse than someone playing just LA Noire over that time :( Won't the drive to the PS3 seize up and your knuckles on your hands wear out?

How much time do you spend swapping discs, during play or just in between games? I don't know what the average figure is, but I bett it's thousands of times larger than that 1 minute every 6 months.Kinthalis

That wouldn't be a good bet. It's mostly JRPGs that are multi-disc. For a full comparison of which has more downtime you would have to take into account the game tweaking required for the pc as well as game installation, authentication and maintenance. I play on both pc and consoles and know full well that the pc would lose.

i only own a ps3 and i have to disagree with you , the installs do annoy me but only when they are long some games like infamous where really quick but some like heavy rain take a long time. I delete most of the old games on my hardive and just keep the saves to make space
