Uhh, unless you buy and download the game from the PSN, then you need the disc to play the game. You can save your progress and settings and such on the PS3's internal HDD. It basically takes the place of the memory card needed for the PS2.

you know if you go to best buy or anyother stores and playing games on their ps3 they don't have a disc inside the ps3 and the games are saved on the harddrive...because they had motorstorm the game and call of duty 4 on there,i am not talking about demos and try was playing it............

Yeah, but I doubt that they will release something like that to consumers though ...

Quick question. When emulating a PS2 game on a PS3, do you need to use a PS2 memory card, with either the 20/60 or 80, or can you save on the hard drive?notalkjustrock

No ... the hard drive is fine ... but you'll need a memory card adapter if you want to transfer saves back and forth from your PS2 to your PS3.

So, in conclusion, if i buy a ps3 from england, y will be able to use games bought from usa. This would be a difference between ps3 and ps2, am i correct?

PS3 games aren't region-locked. PS2 games and movies are still however region-locked on it.

The 40GB SKU will not play PS2 games. PS2 Backwards Compatibility has been removed from it.

For what reason ... I think you can stream media from one to another like you can from a PC to a PS3, but I'm not sure about playing games offline. You can use an LAN for online multiplayer together, but I'm not sure about offline multiplayer using two linked PS3s.

Nope ... just the system, the controller, the power cord, composite cables, and a manual.

The Warhawk headset is $20 because the pack is $60 and the game alone is $40. You can get any Bluetooth headset, so there is a pretty big range of prices. If you have one for your cell phone, you could use that one. Anyway, the range for them would be from $20 to about $80, but you could get one of good quality for about $30-$40. I have the one that came with Warhawk, and it works fine.

i own a 360 and i love it but just about all there is are shooters i want more variety so should i buy a PS3 i dont have enough money currently so should i save up for one and what are some of the big exclusives coming out

Yeah, you should save up, but you can play GTA4 and DMC4 on your 360 while your saving up for one. Just be sure to get one before MGS4 and FFXIII comes out oo you could always go *cough* Christmas *cough* or *cough* Birthday *cough* lol :P.

i have a quick question. this may sound a little noobish but how come when im playing my ps3 its all quiet and all for like 10 minutes then all of a sudden i hear something like a fan. if thats the cooling thats kinda loud. but i wonder if anyone could hear it also. or its just mine. Chain_Strike

So long as your PS3 is plugged into an outlet, the fan will turn on/off automatically whenever the PS3 begins to heat up on the inside. The fan noise of the PS3 is relatively very quiet and largely unnoticed by most PS3 owners.

Yes, there have been several updates to improve upon or fix backwards compatibility issues with certain games for both the 60GB and 80GB versions.

Yes I have a Wii, 360, and PS3 and when I'm done playing my 360 I go and play my PS3 and I don't notice the fan noise.

I have a question. Will there be a external ps2 reader/player available for the 40gig version?

I still have my beatup old PS2 however I want to take advantage of the internal memory card system instead of feeding my memory cards to it. So I think an external player/reader would be great for people like me who didn't know that this version wouldn't have Backwards Compatibility.

Yeah, I doubt they are going to make something like that, but you could always hope for one. Besides, buying any system without researching to make sure it has all the capabilities you wanted is making an uninformed decision, and sadly, you only have yourself to blame.

uuhhmm how do I add music and videos to my PS3, I tried connecting my Ipod and Digital Camera through the USb Ports, it worked, I could watch and listen to music, but how do I add music to it, I Know u have to press triangle and the copy, but when i press copy, nothing happens, everything else is highlited, like sort by name, PLAY, STOP, DELETE, but the COPY, icon is not highlited and I cant chose it, how come??? thid happens sometimes when i try to add some songs and videos!! thnx alot!!

If you have a 60GB or 80GB, then just use the memory stick from your digital camera to copy the pictures onto your PS3. As for the music, I transfer my music from my PC onto a USB mass storage device, and then onto my PS3 and it works fine.
