Why everyone keeps putting up Flash content???
you know HTML5 is better.
Gamespot if you are worried that someone steals the video cause html5 has less security, well we got youtube for that,
Not every browser supports HTML5. Every browser supports Flash.
@Chow_Mein_Kampf:
I hate the white backboard, why can't i change it back to black ?
You can, just click on the "A " in the top right corner next to the youtube link. Although I don't know how to change it permanently like on the old site. :(
Is there a way?
It changed permanently for me.
Too early to tell.
So far, it's bugged up the ass.
EDIT: I like how you don't have to go to a different screen to make a post or edit.
I know new stuff always takes time getting used to.
Having said that, this new website is horrible.
p.s. I like Kevin, but this editor-egotrip is ridiculous. Why not relevant info first: who made it? What score did the reviewer give it, in comparison to members and other websites?
Old was miles better, this is hard to see and navigate!
If it isn't broke don't fix it, FFS websites why can't you just follow this dam simple rule. Herp derp the website needs redesigning even though its perfectly fine, just because its been like this for a while.
While the old website itself may not have been broken, the forums were pretty well borked including the last couple of days prior to the switch when Bonk! reared its ugly head again. All that means is they could have just remade the forums with different software instead of changing everything.
I'm loving the new look but I would much prefer the forums being at the center of the page instead of it using up the whole screen.
good stuff. they finally added the page numbers to the right of a thread.
Yeah, just noticed this. Good, good.
@Danyawesomsauce: Nice to know some of the old crew is still on here. I totally agree with you. The new site is crap. WHY DID THEY KILL FUSE?!?!
i havent seen a place to change it either. but then i havent really looked =P
ive gotten used to 50ppp on the old site. am actually glad they made it default.
The things I miss the most is the lists that I had for my games library. It helped me catalog what I have and what I'm looking forward to. It seems that they've turned this feature into stacks; However, at this time that feature seems to be broken as I can't save any changes, nor can I sort the list in a way that allows me to see all the titles for a specific console. The most frustrating part is that some of the games that I had listed have magically become the Japanese version in the list. WTF.
things i miss the most, are the ways to tell that we have read a thread, and wehter or not it has new posts or not. and the option to go to the first unread post in a thread.
The new site is just plain bad... harder to navigate and not very user friendly. Gamespot use to be my site of choice but this new interface is gonna drive me to ign. Whoever designed this new interface should be fired!!
Yeah all downloads are gone in the new site, they mentioned that in the original announcement. Glad they finally added thread navigation.
Main page is a disaster. I liked how the biggest news always rotated at the top and how the newest news was always just below it. Now I find it hard to navigate.
Forums don't look like forums but blog posts.
Ratings history is gone among other things.
And why don't our news comment images match our site wide avatars yet? I've had the same one for years now regardless of how many times I changed my av.
Gamespot is making the same kind of grevious error that Coke made with the New coke vs the original coke debacle.
They've changed the product for the sake of 'change' only - it's an unwanted, and unnecessary change to a product people loved.
LOL. I thought I was the only one around here who remembered that debacle.
There is at least one thing I really like about the new site. And that is the fact doing quoting multiple posts is much easier on the forums than before. Hover your mouse cursor over another post to add a quote. Love that new feature.
Ok, this is just plain stupid. Why the hell would you make a change that isn't even finished? Just look at those fucking dates, oh god makes we want to puke! This new GS thing really got me..
I noticed that too, it a huge chunk of BS from GS, like what kind of high school drop out programmed this? lol
this is bad, the changes are full of bugs and compared to other game centric sites, the change is the worst in terms of accessibility. IGN's site change years before is WAY better than this and actually made it more accessable than it's previous site iteration. however the forums feature are better in this but the lack of read previously read post is destroying my enjoyment of this site.
The new look of this site is "O.K" the new gamespot looks nice. But it seemed to crash at one point. I guess technical issues are expected. I do miss the old site. But that is only because that was what I was used to.
I will figure out gamespot new way of doing things. The tech hiccups should eventually be fixed. if Gamespot has begun to "care".
I guess this will be like using the Dualshock 4 controller for the first time since the Dualshock design has been more of less the same since 1997. So since gamepot began around the same time. It will take some time to get used to "new" gamespot.

Not every browser supports HTML5. Every browser supports Flash.
You mean to tell me Chrome, FireFox, IE, Opera, and Safari don't support HTML5? This isn't 2009....
Did I miss any browsers that the majority use?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usage_share_of_web_browsers
That's the dumbest excuse to use in the year 2013.
Navigating this one is a pain in the ass.
Also it's hard to look at.
I agree. I knew it was going to have a look similar to GiantBomb, but I wasn't expecting a complete ripoff. I never thought I'd say it, but I think I might start using IGN more. Now IGN isn't without its bugs/glitches, quirks, and odd design choices as well, but out of all the major sites, at least their design is better than GameSpot's. I've tried to get around the new GS since the redesign and I'm just not feeling it. Navigating is ridiculous. It shouldn't take that much effort to find the things that interest me. Then there is my profile. My feed is cluttered with info about people and topics I don't even follow. You can't reply to posts on your wall. Can't post links in your sig. Can't delete images from your profile. There is not an efficient way to know if your friends post new blogs (I definitely like the way it was handled on the old site). The new way collections are handled is garbage. All in all, this site is just a mess now. All the GlitchSpot jokes aside, the old site had a great design. It was just a technical mess. Not sure why they couldn't just keep the old site design and make new code. Instead of being a GiantBomb copy. Which isn't a complement. This is why I stopped bothering with GiantBomb except for their podcasts. It's a damn shame that IGN has become just about our only option for having a one-stop site to get gaming info, blog, easily manage our collections, etc.
Old site, no doubt.
There is no reason to change. I don't know why they did this, and they made it worse.
To try and make the site less glitchy is part of the reason, but now we have some new glitches, like account deletions. They really should have waited longer to bring this new site live.
I liked the redesign but I do agree this loads waaaay slow. Sometimes I actually have to refresh to load the forums. Also, where are all my friends? I used to be able to see the latest blog posts on the right sidebar... now, where can I keep up to date with them?
