That's both really interesting and really bizarre. Interesting because I guess you don't know who you're going to get, but bizarre because in an age with so many games with character creators, I don't see why a company would willingly get rid of that.

I've enjoyed most JRPGs I've played, thankfully. some are obviously better than others, but as a whole I've had nothing but good experiences with the genre. Interesting list, lots of games I've never heard of.

I'd really like to know the whole story behind this. Someone needs to make a documentary about it, because to me, Hayter's weird over the top acting has always been one of the highlights of the series. Fans loved him too, and if Kojima is known for one thing, it's fan service. I really want to know why Kojima was so insistent on not working with Hayter anymore.

@Dahaganu: I won't lie, I was pretty underwhelmed by Guardians. Not a bad movie, but I think people overblow how good it is. It felt like a fairly standard scifi blockbuster tbh.

I'm just tired of these kinds of movies. I don't care about any of the characters because I haven't read the comics and half the movies like this seem to rely on outside knowledge. That's such a bad and presumptuous way of storytelling. And this honestly just looks like Watchmen. And while the Watchmen comic book is great, it's intentionally dour. The fact that the first trailer for this movie has the line "do you bleed" in there tells me all I need to know.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm hoping this whole comic book thing collapses soon. It's beyond stale at this point. I want more creative big budget movies, please.

@Gelugon_baat: The Zero Escape games for one, where the story is the whole point of playing through it multiple times. Lone Survivor would be another. It's a vague premise but also compelling enough for me to want to figure out what the hell is going on. Some other indie horror games as well, like one called Close Your Eyes. Again, super vague storytelling, but I've only seen three out of seven endings. Do games with "bad, mediocre, good" endings count or no? Because I've played quite a few of those as well, like Silent Hill 2

@RogerioFM: Given your avatar, I can see what you mean (not meaning to stalk you, was just reading this review and saw you posted here). Not enough developers dedicate enough time to really nailing the story, which is a shame, because I've played a lot of games that, with some more refinement, could have had great stories and instead had mediocre ones because it wasn't the developers' priority.

@Gelugon_baat: I've even played games where the story is the driving force behind multiple playthroughs, but they had good, cohesive, interesting writing. It sounds like this game just has no sense of continuity or cohesiveness behind its story, based on the reviewer.

This is disappointing because it looked really cool. Maybe I'll grab it if these bugs and consistency issues ever get fixed, but I'm glad I read this review before purchasing.

That's insane. Well, we got the best game remake of all time and one of the best games of all time period out of this series. Plus some of the best (read: most cringe inducing) one liners in history.
