@mastermetal777: Thank you! I can honestly understand why a lot of people say TP is their favorite. It really is a great refinement of the formula and main story themes.
And in case you couldn't tell from my list, you should absolutely play some handheld ones. They're dope!
@juboner: I see what you're saying and respect your opinions!
Twilight Princess is indeed a great game, I just happened to like others better. But I agree, it really does pick up after Goron Mines (although I love the boss fights in that dungeon).
Lots of really great games on this list. I personally would have moved DQIX up higher simply because of how much there is to do and I probably would have swapped out a few others, but still, really great list!
It's amazing what AC has become. I remember the first game coming out and thinking it was a really neat idea. I was on board until AC3, took a year off, then played and loved AC4, but at this point, the series is too formulaic, convoluted and bogged down by the fact that the story seemingly has no end for me to give a damn. This series is encountering the comic book problem. With a given premise, it becomes increasingly difficult to maintain interest in an ongoing storyline without some seriously talented writers and this series lacks that. Ah well.
A game being released in this state is unacceptable. They intentionally left so much content that has been the standard in fighting games for a very long time. Even if it's coming later on down the road for free, it's inexcusable. Wait to release it when everything is ready to go rather than releasing parts of the game that should have been available to begin with later on.
Majora's is still my favorite game of all time. It felt fresh and exciting playing it last year on the 3DS, so suffice to say it stands the test of time. Interesting retrospective.
Additionally, I feel old as hell because it seems like yesterday I was celebrating the series 25th anniversary by buying Skyward Sword, only now it's the 30th anniversary.
