Wii U comes out with a Mario/Zelda/Mario Kart/Smash Bros and it will start selling like hot cakes. However I really do not like the Level/non exploration type Mario 3D World game :( Was hoping for a Mario 64/Sunshine successor...
After seeing this I am re-energized about current gen. I honestly don't think next gen is going to be about graphics. Which is why I think Nintendo may have made the right choice with their hardware. Now if only they could back it up with some good software. :( I plan on owning a ps4/wii u/gaming pc this coming gen. I dunno about the xbox one RIGHT NOW, however that tv integration could be too amazing to pass up. We shall see.
I would be pumped too. Sony has some great in house/1st party teams and their playstation plus model is 2nd to none. Add that to a cheaper more powerful system and you have a a recipe for success.
Final Fantasy needs to STOP being so EMO! Get back to your roots. Final Fantasy is about huge exploration, finding neat secret items, turn based combat with cool spells (NOT OVER THE TOP 1 HOUR CUT SCENE ATTACKS, but cool spells) and a cool story. I feel Final Fantasy 6 was the pinnacle of the series, however if I had to compromise I would say the Final Fantasy 7 model is what you need to follow. TONS of exploration, a cool story with a bad A villain and just a HINT! of the EMO! Not an overarching existential deep philosophical bore fest with a qq'ing lead protagonist. Look at Naruto. Sure you can have Sasuke's that are qq whoa is me characters, but then you get back to Naruto whos about punching people in the face. That's what people want. They want a go getter main character. Not a whiny baby.
multiplatform = lower quality. Bad move Square. On the upside. The hardware is so darn similar now it really doesn't matter as much. However, the hardware is different enough to mean they will spend extra time fiddling and fine tunning one while the other sits on the shelf getting dusty and old.
