The HL2 singleplayer campaign is just what you are looking for. Great storyline, gameplay, atmosphere, level design and voice acting. Not sure about TF2 and Portal: I have only played HL2 on the PC.
Seriously, 5$ per month is nothing. Christ, you work for like 30 minutes and you get to play online for 30 days. Even if you don't have a job, that's only one booster pack of Yugioh cards less. Quit QQing.
